We are seeking an individual to work as a Mental Health Research Program Analyst at the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.


This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

(1) Work with staff to plan and carry out special studies and analyses of the Division of Translational (DTR) research portfolios.

(2) Work with the Division to prepare, collect, and coordinate material, data, memos, and slide presentations for Council-related meetings.

(3) Work with staff on special assignments such as the development of responses to various requests for information, utilizing a range of data and portfolio analysis tools and systems, including Query View Report System (QVR), Electronic Research Administration (eRA) Commons system, iSEARCH, NIH RePORT Expenditures and Results Tool (RePORTER), ClinicalTrials.gov webpage, etc.

(4) Retrieve data related to the review and administration of extramural grants from NIH and NIMH grants databases.

(5) Work with staff and leadership to plan and manage development of initiatives, workshops, and meetings in pursuit of division priorities and the Institutes Strategic Plan.

(6) Conduct library and computer searches of scientific literature related to translational research, including treatment and preventive interventions, related to mental disorders, mental health and related topics; locate and gather published papers on specific topics; prepare summaries.

(7) Contribute written summaries of analysis for inclusion in reports and presentations to NIH and external audiences.

(8) Develop and improve procedures for leadership and program staff to implement within-division and cross-division tracking and reporting to gauge progress, identify gaps in the portfolio, and assemble data on areas of scientific interest.

(9) Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, researchers and applicants

(10) Demonstrate and expand knowledge of scientific areas through activities (e.g., participating in scientific meetings, committees, or consortia; preparing summaries of meetings; preparing reports).

(11) Maintain current knowledge of ethical conduct requirements, conflict of interest policy, computer security, working knowledge of relevant electronic research administration (eRA) modules, data and portfolio analysis tools and systems, and applications as necessary.


REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

(1) Ph.D. in a related discipline

(2) Minimum of four (4) years of related experience.

(3) Expertise in analyzing data.

(4) Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).

(5) Expertise in video conferencing (Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Skype)

(6) Excellent communications skills, both oral and written; strong skills writing and editing documents; excellent skills in preparing slide presentations.

(7) Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
