**Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a Pharmaceutical Operational Services Manufacturing Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity in the Greater Chicago area, IL. This role will be more technical and require experience in either Engineering, R&D, Validation, Tech Transfer, etc?.**


The Operational Services Lead is responsible for managing and directing all activities required to support the operational needs of Manufacturing in a specific Value Stream for the Kankakee site. The role will form a strong partnership with Manufacturing Operations and will be responsible for leading an Operational Subject Matter Expert group to manage and improve Operational Services including: process change

management, issue/deviation resolution, continuous improvement, training, and the transfer of newly developed processes including process improvements to support Manufacturing growth and efficiency.


Responsibilities for the Operational Services Manufacturing Manager includes:


+ Responsible for managing the selection, performance and ongoing development of people within the Operational Services team as well as developing succession, retention and development plans for key talent.

+ Accountable for the resource allocation, and operational budgets of the Operational Services department aligned to the Manufacturing organizations goals and objectives.

+ Develops Operational Service strategies and implements aligned short and long-term tactical plans to support the Manufacturing organization achieve agreed goals and objectives.

+ Manages and delivers cross-functional manufacturing projects to improve safety, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction and/or reduce risk with particular focus on change controls, risk assessments, deviations, CAPAs and audits.

+ Supports future production capacity and capability expansion programs by contributing expertise and resource in specific operational service processes and disciplines.

+ Oversees the delivery of Operational Service support to resolve important/critical issues significantly impacting quality, safety, production, compliance and/or cost by supporting direct Manufacturing and/or Quality.

+ eads and facilitates the Continuous Improvement and Cost Improvement Programs.

+ Drives the use of risk-based and data driven continuous improvement to deliver improvements in safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.

+ Identifies, facilitates, and tracks the implementation of cost improvement projects.

+ Validates that cost improvements are budgeted after completion.

+ Champions efforts to identify best demonstrated process methods/practices and ensures harmonization of manufacturing practices with global operations standards.

+ Creates, standardizes, implements and improves Manufacturing documentation including the development and coordination of technical training programs.

+ Places a high priority on developing others through coaching, feedback and developmental goals.

+ Foster a culture of continuous improvement through employee selection, training and mentoring while focusing on operational efficiency and the elimination of non-value added activities.

+ Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing values: Customer Focus, Innovation, Integrity, Collaboration, and Superior Performance.

+ Complies with requirements from Safety Program, including Health and Safety mandates and OSHA requirements.

+ Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.

+ 10% travel may be required.


Requirements of the Operational Services Manufacturing Manager includes:


+ Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Sciences, Engineering or equivalent. Ph.D. is preferred.

+ 7 or more years of managerial operations experience (R&D, Tech Services, Quality or Manufacturing) in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or biological industry.

+ Demonstrated understanding of cGMP, regulatory requirements and relevant environmental, health and safety requirements as applicable to secondary manufacturing.

+ Up to date knowledge of validation technology, production and management processes within and external to the pharmaceutical industry.

+ A team player with demonstrated initiative and proven problem solving, communication and negotiation skills.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish, enhance and manage customer relationships.

+ Sound understanding of engineering, microbiology and statistical principles
