**Job Summary for Planning Analyst**


The Planning Analyst is a highly skilled supply chain professional. Their primary responsibility is to maintain planning models while optimizing total supply chain costs and fulfillment targets. The Planning Analyst will have knowledge of all product categories and customer segments. Through financial/master data analysis, they will evaluate inventory strategy and planning methodology. The Planning Analyst will manage stocking levels and lead times using ERP tools and statistical techniques.


**Job Duties for Planning Analyst**


**Inventory Management**


+ Responsible for optimizing inventory levels and fill rates across our client’s distribution network so that service level targets are met
+ Establish and maintain appropriate target stock levels, safety stock, and surge stock levels using ERP and statistical inventory management tools and techniques
+ Actively review and manage lead times with the goal to reduce them


+ Use financial analysis tools to analyze Total Supply Chain costs with the goal to maximize working capital.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**Supply Chain Planning**



+ Develop/measure product forecasts using ERP models and tools
+ Communicate forecasts to stakeholders as needed
+ Meet regularly with Marketing/Purchasing to review product forecasts, market trends, promotions etc.
+ Analyze channel/product mix, identify gaps and value creation opportunities

**Job Qualifications For Planning Analyst**


**Required:**


+ Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience and education
+ 4+ years purchasing and planning experience in related industry
including:


+ Material planning and forecasting using ERP tools, preferably Netsuite
+ Inventory Management experience, including excess and obsolete management

+ Very comfortable with Excel formulas and pivot table creation/analysis
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work and influence others from different functional areas and levels within and outside the organization
+ Excellent organizational, decision making and analytical skills
+ Strong math skills with an understanding of statistics
+ Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques (lean, 6 sigma etc.)
+ Other MS Office - (Word, Power Point Etc.)
**Preferred:**


+ Familiarity with BI/large database tools
+ Master’s degree
+ APICS and/or ISM Certifications
+ Knowledge of and/or experience in a Distribution/Logistics environment
