Description **PLM Asbestos Microscopist, Huntington Beach, CA**

We are seeking a PLM Asbestos Microscopist to join an amazing, customer-focused, team who not only love what we do, but enjoy teaching and training others as well!

**Schedule/Shift:** 1st shift, Mon.-Fri. with "on-call" availability every other Sat. (There is some shift flexibility (i.e. we could work out flexibility such as Tues.-Sat.)

**Salary:** Open depending on experience.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**


+ Preparing and analyzing environmental asbestos samples using PLM and PCM.
+ Recording data in our proprietary LIMS and report generation.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
+ Perform QA / QC practices as specified in our QA / QC manual.
+ Participates in proficiency testing program.
+ Provides clients with meaningful information and resource sites to assist them in understanding laboratory analysis.
+ Other analytical and administrative duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements:**


+ Associate's degree (AS) ,OR Bachelor's degree (BS) in Geology, OR certification from a bona-fide asbestos microscopy program.
+ Minimum of one (1) year of environmental commercial or governmental or state laboratory experience in Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) asbestos analysis. The same requirement applies if you have PCM experience.
+ Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) experience is a plus!
+ Basic understanding of the quality assurance requirements related to asbestos analysis.
+ Thorough understanding of laboratory practices and ethics
+ Conscientious and detail-oriented
+ Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
