**PRECIOUS METALS MANAGER**

The Precious Metals Manager is the senior manager of the Business Group, and is accountable for financial performance, quality of service, personnel safety, and personnel development for all business units (Precious Metals Operations, Precious Metals Lab, and Audits). Scope of work includes managing both lab and field operations as well as business development activities. The Precious Metals Manager will provide quality and quantity determination for all precious metal commodities: catalysts (reforming, chemical, pharmaceutical, and automotive), dor, electronics, jewelry scrap, and manufacturing sweeps.


**RESPONSIBILITIES:**


+ Accountability for the performance of the Precious Metals group

+ Financial Management of Profit & Loss financial forecasting, strategic planning, business development, service pricing, contract negotiation, and cost controls

+ Quality of Service manage technical operations, determine quality and quantity for settlements, represent clients for settlement, use net promoter score (NPS) results to identify service gaps, root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality gaps

+ Customer Satisfaction Meet business partners regularly, manage client expectations through clear contract requirements and service delivery

+ Health and Safety for all personnel ensure job hazard analysis and critical task analysis is performed for all locations, identify, and track leading indicators for mishaps, implement training to mitigate and control risks

+ Resource Planning Support Field and Lab operations with personnel resource planning, material procurement and equipment management including Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects

+ Business Development collaborate with Business Development Manager to grow and diversify customer base and service offerings, utilize resources such as Sales Force to manage lead follow up and to track sales metrics

+ Contract Negotiation lead the proposal processes including evaluating and screening RFP/RFQs for feasibility and profitability

+ Account Management Ensure Account Management team maintains strategic client relationships to ensure retention and to grow key accounts

+ Personnel Development - Build strong regional teams, coaching managers to achieve business group, regional, and individual development goals

+ Cost Control efficiently manage employee hours and use of independent contractors as necessary to minimize operational cost

+ Budgetary planning and forecasting assist in developing business unit budgets, manage end of month close, and maintain running forecast for the Precious Metals group

+ Represent company at trade shows and industry committees to maintain strategic partnerships, market visibility and standing within the Precious Metals industry


**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:**


Directly manages the overall operations of the Precious Metals group. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.


**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:**


+ Well organized, disciplined, and self-motivated, with the ability to drive multiple priorities simultaneously

+ Understanding and experience of good business management practices, including basic finance, business strategy, human resources, sales, and marketing

+ Possess business acumen including detailed technical knowledge and operations management

+ Data-Driven approach to management and decision making, able to develop and maintain key performance indicators

+ Knowledge of the Precious Metals Industry: Primary Mining, Manufacturing, Scrap Collection, Refining

+ Knowledge of Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and application if Petroleum and Automotive Catalyst

+ Knowledge of Precious Metals Vault Audits

+ Knowledge and experience with commercial laboratories

+ 15% travel required


**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:**


+ A minimum of a bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field

+ 15 years of direct experience to be considered in lieu of degree.

+ Prior engineering, refining, operations, and/or business development experience in the metals industry is required.


**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:** Valid drivers license is required.

**OTHER:** Ability to travel via airlines (U.S. and Abroad)
