Kelly Services is seeking Precision Assembler/Machine operator



POSITION OVERVIEW: These individuals are responsible for assembling and fabricating prepared components into units according to prescribed ordered sizes. Two main components of the job are prepping and assembling.

Assemblers are typically trained by observing others and gradually moving up in job complexity under instruction and supervision of other assemblers or an immediate supervisor.

The work of an assembler is structured and repetitive, with work orders predetermined and similar tasks performed from one day to the next. Attention to detail, accuracy of work, and commitment to safety are crucial.

Assemblers should become proficient in a multitude of warehouse functions, and can move up to skilled assembler, assembler lead, assembler supervisor, and beyond.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The prepping component of the job includes preparing materials or merchandise for assembly line production by: The assembling component of the job includes machining and/or assembling various millwork products

Reading orders and identifying necessary modifications.

Operating machinery that modifies the product.

Preparing the product for shipment

Inspects the overall quality of assembled product throughout the assembly process.

Responsible for the repair and disassembly of returned or defective product to prepare it for resale or return to stock.

Performs routine maintenance on all tools used including cleaning, oiling, checking to ensure proper functioning, calibrating machines, checking measuring tool accuracy, and notifying a supervisor of larger repairs or malfunctions.

Must be willing and able to be cross-trained and to handle all stations along the line.


TOOLS USED Include but are not limited to: chop saw, table saw, rip saw, hand saw; router, nail gun, screw gun, door machine, various pneumatic tools, and drills.
