Description **Principal R&D Engineer – Plymouth, MN**

Our well-respected medical device client in Plymouth, MN has an exciting opportunity for a Principal R&D Engineer. The candidate will help lead development teams and development projects related to catheter design providing technical and project leadership, the candidate will play a key role in customer management, communication and leadership providing technical input at a product, process and project level. They will be a key influence to project strategies and product regulatory planning.

_Responsibilities:_


+ Provide Technical and Project Leadership on Company Development Projects within the Design Services Group. Lead projects from concept phase through verification and validation activities and through appropriate transfer to production activities.
+ Manage project deliverables and outputs for the project team. Lead project teams towards these deliverables.
+ Execute projects following company quality systems, design control and risk management procedures
+ Provide leadership and input on key project scoping, planning and proposal activities for new business, work as part of team presenting opportunities to prospective customers.
+ Coach and mentor project team and act as Subject Matter Expert for other projects with the Design Services Group.
+ Work with customers towards achieving their development and commercial goals, provide technical and project leadership to these customers. Lead the project and customer communication with periodical formal and informal reviews and requirements.
+ Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:


+ Bachelors or Masters/PHd in Engineering or similar technical field, with at least 10-15 years of relevant Medical device and technology experience.
+ Interventional Experience specific to EP Devices, Catheters, Guidewires
+ Proven design control and risk management experience to the appropriate regulations within the medical device industry
+ Strong knowledge in medical device product design, development and testing.
