**Process Chemist:**

Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking a **Process Chemist** for one of our top clients in the **Dallas/Ft Worth geographical area of TX** . This company is a consistent leader in its field and is highly respected for its high-quality goods and scope of products and services.


The purpose of the Process Chemist is to continually improve the manufacturing process to reduce customer issues and improve safety, efficiencies, and quality of the product. They will effectively interface with customers, suppliers, commercial, manufacturing and other facilities to provide quality and technical support for new product applications, while supporting the Technical department with generating technical solutions to resolve compound, raw material, or processing issues.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

+ Lead and participate in continuous improvement teams or projects in the manufacturing process to support efficiency gains and cost savings initiatives to drive business growth to meet BOS objectives.

+ Set up recipes/mixing in Spectrum/Prism system and follow through the process to validate.

+ Addresses and helps correct any compound or processing problems.

+ Assist, as needed, with corrective actions for both internal/external defective.

+ Identify and recommend beneficial changes to customer formulations or process to add value to customer supplier relationship, coordinating activities with appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

+ Coordinates with development chemist new recipe developments from QC lab through production, monitoring customer needs in a timely manner.

+ Assist with developing commercial compound recipes to support customers and sales.

+ Participate as needed in both ISO9001 and ISO 14001 programs.

+ Host/participate in customer mix trials.

+ Travels to customer locations to provide technical assistance as needed.

+ Remains technically current with plant processing equipment.

+ Remains technically current on raw material changes and new technical developments in the industry.

+ Represents the company at trade association meetings as requested.

+ Analytical testing with the FTIR.

+ Delta management.

+ Support the Development Lab.

+ Assist with customer compliant process.

+ Participate in stretching exercises at the beginning of each shift.

+ Any other projects/tasks assigned by management.

**Skills and Qualifications Required:**

+ Communication skills: verbal, written, telephone with all levels both outside and inside the organization.

+ Interpersonal skills, cooperation, collaboration.

+ Computer skills: Excel, Word, Power Point.

+ Planning, organizational skills.

+ Detail and analytical skills.

+ Must be team oriented and able to adapt to change quickly.

+ College degree In Chemistry or related field.

+ Working knowledge of polymers and chemistry of rubber compounds.

+ Working knowledge of statistical process control and computerized mixing procedures.
