Description Kelly Scientific is in search of driven and motivated **Process Engineer Summer Interns** to join a growing and cutting-edge biotech company located in Seattle, WA. The Process Engineer Interns will play a key role in ensuring successful manufacture of life-saving cell therapy products. These contract opportunities start in June, 2018 and end in September, 2018. These are paid internship positions working 40 hours/week on a flexible schedule.

The primary focus of the Process Engineer Intern Position will include support for process and analytical root cause investigations at contract manufacturers, analyzing and summarizing manufacturing data to support process monitoring and process improvements, and technical support activities. This position will be within the CMC Lifecycle Management group and will include authoring of technical reports in support of change control and regulatory filings.

**Primary Responsibilities**

1. Assist in the development of optimized processes with improved process outcomes and reduced costs for manufacturing systems.
2. Analyze manufacturing data to support investigations, process monitoring, optimization, and filings.
3. Design and participate in technical, engineering, validation, and clinical manufacturing runs in the GMP manufacturing suites.
4. Function as a process and technology subject matter expert; provide on-the-floor and on-site technical support when required.
**Required Qualifications**

+ Ability to work with some supervision in a fast paced team environment, generate quality data, and meet deadlines
+ Basic problem solving skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Relevant/preferred (not required) skills and experience include: aseptic technique and mammalian tissue culture, bench-top fermenter/bioreactor operation, chromatography, and prior experience with R
**Education Requirements**

+ Full-time student or recent graduate pursuing a BS in a scientific or engineering discipline
+ Candidates pursuing a Bioengineering or Chemical Engineering degree preferred
