Description Kelly Engineering has a Direct Hire opening for an experienced Process Improvement Engineer for a large client in the Atlanta area. If you have 3-6 years of Process and Product improvement experience and have a strong understanding of ISO standards, please review the following description. Under general direction, drive continuous improvement and problem solving in manufacturing
environment by increasing efficiencies and reducing/eliminating waste. Utilize Lean Manufacturing
and Six Sigma tools to identify and assist in implementing business improvements. Standardize
production system tools and methods. Implementing efficient and reliable processes to improve
movement/delivery of materials and increase productivity and quality. Continuously drive culture
change and acceptance of best practices. Collaborate with Operations Management to improve
processes, evaluate and take actions regarding day to day materials, logistics and build issues
impacting production lines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Drive the reduction of internal non-conformances in the manufacturing process through
continuous improvement
• Communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner with customers, suppliers and
all internal departments
• Exhibits advanced understanding of inspection techniques and metrology
• Provides technical support for manufacturing to resolve quality and productivity issues
• Can conduct advanced statistical analysis techniques
• Proficient with core quality tools (FMEA, control plan, APQP, cost of quality, SPC)
• Has a thorough understanding of ISO standards
• Safety minded professional that fully understands OSHA regulatory as it pertains to a
manufacturing environment
• Develop training materials and assist in training sessions to all levels of production
• Manage and support process workshop activities such as Lean Kaizen Events for
process/product improvements sustainability
• Frequently follow-up with management to ensure timely and effective implementation using
PDCA format
• Able to empower a team of people to achieve agreed upon outcomes
• Utilize and understand APQP in managing projects with multi-functional teams
• Develop and update PFMEAs, process flow charts and value stream maps
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail.
Must be a proactive “self-starter” who can work well without supervision.
• Requires 5 to 7 years of experience in process and product improvements.
• Requires 2 years of experience in plastics extrusion/injection molding
• Experience in precast concrete manufacturing a plus
• Mechanical feeders, devices, and controls
• Hydraulic and pneumatics experience
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably mechanical or industrial.
