Description and Requirements

The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring continued market viability of a designated product or product line including the conceptualization and launch of new products and enhancements to existing products in the Clinical Research space. The position involves maintaining ongoing interactions with the market as well as internal product strategists, divisional business leaders, marketing, business development, delivery managers, and business analysts. Job duties include the collection and documentation of market-driven business needs, assisting in the translation of those needs into prioritized business requirements, providing ongoing subject matter expertise and guidance to business analysts to ensure releases meet the intended business needs.

Bachelors degree in Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent clinical research work experience.

Pragmatic Marketing Framework certification is a plus.

-Minimum of 3 years overall progressive experience in Clinical Research as a Business Analyst, Clinician, Program Manager, Product Manager, and/or Solution Sales Engineer roles.
-Functional understanding of the clinical research process, clinical operations, and/or multiple clinical systems and solutions strongly preferred.
-Experience conducting market research.
-Hands-on functional and technical experience with software.
-Must be an expert communicator (written and oral) of technical matters to technical and non-technical individuals, and to all levels of management.
-Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
-Strong aptitudes for conceptual thinking, task management, and business awareness.
-Proven ability to work independently and as a team member to meet deadlines.
-Commercial software delivery experience in a 21 CFR Part 11 validated environment a plus.
-Able to identify, absorb, and apply new concepts and technologies necessary to solve problems.
-Able to manage competing stakeholder interests by establishing solutions that meet prioritized market needs for software product(s).

Discover and validate market problems through:
-Meeting with current and potential customers to the customer voice.
-Ongoing review of industry guidelines, specifications and regulations.
-Interacting with users/buyers at industry events, trade shows, and customer advisory boards.
-Identifying industry disruptions that are driving spending in the product space.
-Seek new go-to-market opportunities by leveraging the companys distinctive competence.
-Coordinate with Growth and Marketing teams to develop business plans and market strategies.
-Provide oversight to strategy, tactical, and marketing aspects of products within a product line.
-Develop, maintain, and communicate product vision, positioning, value proposition, buyer/user personas, competitive information, and roadmaps for individual products within a product line.
-Document market needs reflecting a synthesis of product vision, Subject Matter Expert input, independent research/analysis, and pervasive market evidence in support of a business case.
-Present product vision to gain stakeholder consensus and approval of product initiatives.
-Own the overall scoping of product releases in conjunction with setting and managing expectations of the divisional business leadership, Engineering, and Delivery.
-Work with Engineering and Documentation/Training teams to ensure the proper intent of business requirements are understood and translated into the resulting product deliverables.
-Facilitate product launch activities.
-Contribute to the preparation of statements of work, RFI responses, and marketing collateral.
-Deliver presentations/live demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, and via web conference.
-Produce thought-leading content for distribution via events, blogs, e-books, and other outlets.
-Conduct win/loss analysis in support of analyzing sales success and product profitability.
-Promote product education and awareness and conduct knowledge transfers to other teams.
-Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
-Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordination and oversight of cross-departmentally staffed projects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be required in support of some responsibilities (~20%).
