**GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION**


This position will work closely with Product Development, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial Teams to ensure products meet design requirements and customer expectations. The Liaison Engineer will serve as the on-site expert and must have significant product and process knowledge.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**


+ The Liaison Engineer works with the production team and is responsible for fulfilling all Engineering aspects of a customers order, through the alteration of existing standards, designs or in the creation of unique variations and concepts

+ Cradle to grave Engineering oversight of customer orders

+ Interpretation of customer, industry, and regulatory requirements and expectations

+ Collaboration with sales, design and production is paramount in project success

+ Creation and maintenance of process documents, including work instructions & standards

+ Occasional field visits to customer or vendor locations

+ Track line-down disruptions including shortages, mis-picks, BOM errors, spec errors, etc. and drive reduction over time. Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions both as an individual contributor and coordinating others.

+ Engage directly with vendors on specific actions to improve cost, delivery, and quality

+ Define and drive use of best-practices specific to Pioneer pumps and packages. Establish measure for first pass yield and improve over time

+ Attend design reviews for new products and provide feedback to design engineering. Focus on prevention of issues and drive down recurrence.

+ Own actions related to Bill-of-Materials, Item number setup, ECN release, TI's, and other relevant tools.

+ Participate in efforts to reduce product complexity and provide boots-on-the-ground feedback

+ Primary point of contact for field quality and warranty feedback originating from the site. Coordinate or own corrective actions.

+ Knows and predicts physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and their applications to understand fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics; understands mechanical and electrical structures and processes.

+ Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

+ Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, facts, or information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.

+ Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public, and other employees of the organization.

+ Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.

+ Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Writes routine reports and correspondence.

+ Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.

+ Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.

+ Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.

+ Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.


**Education and Experience**


+ Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field (required).

+ Three to five years of relevant experience in fluid transfer systems (required).

+ Masters degree in a relevant field could substitute for years of experience.


**Computer Skills**


+ **Intermediate:** CAD software, project management, spreadsheet.

+ **Basic:** Word processing/typing, presentation/PowerPoint.
