**Production Control Assistant Manager**

**Kelly Services** is seeking a talented **Production Control Assistant Manager** for TOYOTA BOSHOKU AMERICA INC, located in Athens, AL. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in Business, Logistics or related field; 5 years automotive manufacturing experience and 5 years leadership experience. Resume should show progressive career growth. **Automotive experience is required.** This is a long-term contract to direct role. Client will consider relocation assistance DOE and education.

**Summary:** Responsible for production planning and materials management function related to the planning, procurement, storage, controlling and distribution of quality materials and products

**In this role you will:**

+ Manage proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet forecasts.

+ Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.

+ Support launch, model change, and ECI activity.

+ Manage manpower and activities of Kanban ordering process.

+ Implement short and long term corrective actions for production planning and materials management problems.

+ Support development of new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.

+ Negotiate blanket purchase orders and monitors cost.

+ Ensure investment budget rules are followed and keeps track of adherence to policy.

+ Establish and recommend approval of expense budgets for material control and implements the necessary controls to keep expenditures within budget limits.

+ Determine supplier component part packaging and tracks packaging inventory with supplier base.

+ Manage shipping and receiving functions and the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.

+ Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement (kaizen).

+ Prepare documents to report progress, order status, department budget forecasts and miscellaneous recommendations relating to inventory, production control and customer service.

+ Ensure that company standard practices and procedures are followed.

+ Maintain inventory management system.

**Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:**

+ Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics or related field preferred.

+ Minimum of five (5) years of relevant manufacturing experience in the automotive industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Minimum of five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience.

**Personal/Technical Skills:**

+ Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job functions of a management role.

+ Working knowledge of Kanban system, truck/delivery schedules, hazardous waste disposal, and inventory level management.

+ Thorough understanding of company product, trade terminology, quality management and control systems and techniques, manufacturing processes including material controls, work flow, scheduling, Kanban, machine operation, and company policies as standards.

+ Basic math and analytical skills.

+ Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving and resolution.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.

+ Ability to work with multiple departments and prioritize activities.

+ Ability to read instruction manuals, blue prints, and specifications.

+ Ability to maintain on call flexibility to control abnormal conditions.

+ Active listener with effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

+ Must be able to multi-task, handle diversity, and provide leadership through problem resolution.

+ Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization in a team environment.

+ Ability to implement plans to control and maintain safety, quality, 5S, cost, and efficiency for assigned areas.

+ Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

+ Previous experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. ERP System experience (e.g., Oracle) preferred.

+ Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).

+ Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 10% of time.

+ **Physical Demands:**

+ Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time as required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
