**Job Summary:**


Responsible for planning, development, and supervision of projects requiring intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principle and practices in the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in a broad area of assignments.


**Major Responsibilities:**


+ Lead new product introduction to manufacturing facility.

+ Organize and lead team members in localization of product and components.

+ Introduce and lead team for VAVE study and implementation.

+ Work on product design to adopt technology for manufacturing process (DFM).

+ Responsible for launching new projects including obtaining funds, obtaining approval from upper management, and project management from project start until mass production launch.

+ Developing component specifications, selection of component suppliers, conducting design reviews, and procuring new equipment for component making.

+ Travel to various suppliers, customers, and other Group companies.

+ General Engineering tasks upon request including providing line support to production Assembly lines, optimization of product tests, time studies, cost analysis, capability studies, defect root cause analysis and countermeasure development, ROI studies, & cost reduction activities.

+ Provide technical support to the Production and Maintenance groups to solve problems related to quality, safety, and productivity.

+ Develop & execute plans for manufacturing cost reductions with respect to 5M efficiency, including the adaptation of new technologies into the production process.

+ Coordinate the implementation of new products and product engineering changes into mass production.

+ Establish, documentation, and maintain the Process Control Plan outlining product quality requirements, process setting conditions, and validation requirements within the product line of responsibility.

+ Make recommendations and provide justification for capital investments to be made in the area of responsibility for improvements in quality, safety and productivity.

+ Create specifications for equipment, jigs and processes.

+ Conduct investigations into product quality issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

+ Develop manufacturing equipment specifications for existing machine modifications and new line introductions.

+ Design new and revised processes to meet customer and internal requirements for quality, cost, delivery, and environment.

+ Coordinate and manage project schedules for equipment modifications and installations, including management of external equipment suppliers and contractors.


**Minor Responsibilities:**


+ Requires effective communication and involvement with all internal associates/departments and related outside resources.

+ Requires teamwork and participation of company activities such as IATF 16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and Employee Involvement.


**Minimum Qualifications for the Job:**


+ Requires a Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (ME)

+ Additional previous experience in manufacturing engineering a plus.


**Key Competencies:**


+ Must be able to effectively communicate problems / processes in both written and oral formats.

+ Must have investigative, analytical and troubleshooting skills in order to evaluate and make recommendations.

+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.

+ Experience leading projects and Cross Functional Teams (CFT)

+ Work experience in manufacturing operations (Soldering and TIG, Preferred)

+ Proven development of processes, product and equipment from concept to implementation

+ Experience in successful development of multiple new product launches

+ Working knowledge of MS Office products (including Excel, Word, Power Point, & Access) is required.

+ Other knowledge requirements include robotics programming, PLC programming, AutoCAD, & SolidWorks.


**Additional Roles and Responsibilities:**


+ Understand job responsibilities to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects Quality and Environmental Impacts.

+ Follow all procedures and work instructions pertaining to your assignment and make recommendations to improve the process, as well as enhancements to the Environmental Management System.

+ Notify Management immediately when problems or non-conformances are detected.

+ Appropriately record problem and non-conformance to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken.

+ Assist in the problem solving process, corrective action and prevention activities.

+ Contain or stop the process as necessary to prevent non-conforming material from contaminating good material or negatively impacting the Environment.
