Description **Job Description**

Summary of Job:

Set up and operate various equipment / machinery within the finishing group. This position involves loading and unloading carbide parts (varying in size) onto the Finishing equipment for processing. The work instructions for each style of part identifies the particular Finishing processes that are required. Good manual dexterity is required along with the ability to visually inspect finished parts as they are unloaded from the equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Actively participate in department safety program activities including two-minute warning prior to initiating work assignments; practice safe housekeeping; follow established work procedures; prepare safety observations; and, report all incidents in a timely manner.

2. Learns the required activities for proper set-up and operation of the equipment in the department. As the Operator becomes more proficient in the routine operations of the various machine types, it is expected that machine speeds / parts produced will be increased.

3. Properly loads, unloads and inspects product ensuring that each manufactured product is within tolerance specifications.

4. Completes all paperwork per ISO-9001:2008 standards.

5. Identify non-conforming product and advises the appropriate personnel using the methods that are required.

6. Focuses on effective equipment operation to achieve established production standards.

7. Performs quality work to enhance the performance, consistency of our cutting tools.

8. Cross-train and work in other job functions as deemed necessary by management.

9. Performs training as required.

10. Performs accurate and timely data reporting of all types.

11. May contribute to process improvements.

12. Runs multiple machines within cells when required.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Must be able to manufacture and inspect components to tolerance specifications (where applicable)

Must be able to read and interpret prints (where applicable)

Must be able to follow detailed written and/or verbal instructions.

Must be able to apply new job related information in an efficient manner.

Education Guidelines:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Guidelines:

1. Mechanically inclined (for set up and operation of equipment)

2. Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to work either standing or sitting for long periods of time

2. Must have good vision to perform visual inspection, with and without using a microscope

3. Must be able to lift 5 to 15 lbs. routinely. Occasionally lifting up to 55 lbs.

4. Must be able to comply with special handling requirements associated with cemented carbide manufacturing (good hand dexterity required)
