Description **GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:**

This position develops the production work center schedules, and determines the production commit dates for manufacture of customer orders. Works closely with

Production, Customer Service, and Purchasing departments to meet customer requirements. Closely monitors WIP and FG’s inventory levels.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**


+ Develops the production schedules for the machine shop utilizing a computer controlled scheduling software.
+ Determines production commitments dates for product deliveries.
+ Monitors the available load against the current available capacities and production lead times, and generates reports detailing this information.
+ Monitors and maintains accurate Work in Process Inventories and insures accurate release of raw materials to meet production requirements.
+ Monitors production activities of critical work centers and makes appropriate actions as required to insure production commitments are maintained.
+ Manages Dispatch list and expedites as prioritized by Sales.
+ Determines if requested expedites can be realized and assesses the consequences on other products.
+ Works with production departments to determine overtime requirements to meet production time lines.
+ Maintains appropriate make to stock finished goods inventory levels based upon established requirements and customer pull history.
**JOB SKILLS:**


+ This position requires a strong background in finite capacity scheduling preferably in a job shop type environment.
+ Must be computer literate with a background in scheduling utilizing MRP type scheduling systems.
+ Working knowledge of MS Excel.
+ Manual dexterity required.
+ Ability to work closely with others in a team environment required.
**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:**


+ Minimum of 5 years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ APICS certification preferred.
