Description Production Manager (Cleveland, Ohio)

Client located in Cleveland, Ohio is currently hiring a Production Manager to support growing business.

This position is a Direct Hire.

The Production Manager is responsible for supervising employees and will lead through a hands-on team-based approach, and will be responsible for the overall quality and delivery of product and all aspects of the day to day operating activities to meet the requirements of customers. The individual will enable team with the tools and training needed to continue to delight customers with very high-quality products and responsive service.

This position executes plans and assigns work as directed by the in the most efficient manner to service the needs of the customers, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations. Is the go-to person for all events that impact production. Troubleshoots problems and answers questions that get in the way of productivity
Plan, direct, and monitor workflow and labor content
Acts as a coach, facilitator, and teacher, to insure all production personnel understand what is expected of them and how they are doing. Provide for a trained and skilled work force. Use cross-training to develop a flexible workforce
Identify and lead Lean process improvement initiatives (using the A3 organizational tool) aimed at improving profit, efficiency, quality or delivery with energy and focus, regularly meeting or exceeding agreed upon performance improvement goals
Lead team-based efforts to identify problems affecting operational performance and foster an environment in which people work together to achieve value-added end results within acceptable time periods
Generate ideas for Lean improvements and suggest innovations
Encourage and support team members to use formal problem-solving techniques to determine root causes of problems. Assist in developing appropriate corrective actions
Work with customer service and sales on expedite requests always trying to accommodate customer’s needs
Understands the preventative maintenance system and assures that PM is begin done as scheduled
Is a member of the Safety Committee and ensures all employees are trained in PPE and that we operate a safe facility for our employees
Evaluate equipment and work methods to ensure a safe work environment

Qualified Candidates Will Have:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 2 - 5 years of significant experience in a manufacturing management role preferable in a job-shop
Knowledge and experience in implementing lean improvement projects
Working knowledge of quality tools and lean manufacturing tools
