The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day programmatic elements of various training courses and programs within the Corporate Services-Lifelong Learning Department. This position is responsible for the administration of classes or instructional events of lifelong learning programs. This includes needs assessment, curriculum design, instructor/trainer recruitment, registration management, customer service, course/event logistics, significant oral and written communication skills and financial success of the course/event/program; ensuring net revenue generation annually.

**What a typical day as a Coordinator might look like:**

+ May serve as a formal workgroup leader for assigned staff, contracted instructors, consultants, and students.

+ Coordinates all activities regarding non-credit and enrichment courses in the department.

+ Builds program schedule and designs bi-annual catalogs.

+ Select and evaluates instructors.

+ Assists in the evaluation of the overall program.

+ Conducts cost/profit analysis on all courses and programs to ensure an annual increase in net revenue/profit generation.

+ Register Lifelong Learning students to include completion of class request forms, filing of class paperwork, registration process and inputting information into database, room set-ups, books and copying of materials.

+ Coordinate, prepare and process instructor schedules, contracts and invoices.

+ Purchase materials required to administer the classes.

+ Responsible for processing student/customer tuition receivables and refunds, delinquent collections, and other aspects of the business functions of the Lifelong Learning office, including but not limited to third party payments and credit card verifications.

+ Prepares and ensures that certificates for students completing training are ready for distribution.

+ Prepares instructional materials and program schedules, prints class lists and reports, and assembles class materials as needed/required by the Lifelong Learning department.

+ Conduct regular program reviews to determine whether to keep or eliminate them.

+ Design and implement new training programs.

+ Provides support for instructors for the Lifelong Learning office.

+ Provides assistance to all Lifelong Learning employees in the understanding of office procedures and systems (ex: Datatel) as it pertains to Lifelong Learning applications.

+ Attempts to eliminate student complaints as the primary contact for Lifelong Learning.

+ Maintains an inventory of all office and instructional supplies as required by the department.

+ Remains abreast of daily changes in regard to adding/cancelling Lifelong Learning sections.

+ Adheres to all policy and procedures of The WED division and Mott Community College.

+ Maintains marketing strategy, class lists, proctor and online student spreadsheets, and mail lists.

+ Manages student sponsorships.

+ May serve as a proctor for certifications, assessments, and exams.

+ Attend required internal and external meetings and participate in annual professional development activities.

+ **This job might be an outstanding fit if you:**

+ Bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing, communications, public administration, or closely related field.

+ Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in education/training, marketing, sales, administrative or business management

+ Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

+ Strong customer service skills to effectively address the needs of students, customers, faculty, staff and the general public.

+ Must possess good organizational skills and be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

+ Demonstrated work history of providing high quality, strong customer-centered services including problem solving; strong listening skills, coordination of work effort with team members; conflict resolution; and ability to put student/customer before self.

+ Ability to work with accuracy with minimum supervision.

+ Willing to take accountability for and ownership of work, job and office operations; dependable and reliable.

+ Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work situations that may include evening and weekend work assignments, and local/regional travel.

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality on all information regarding student, staff, and faculty communications and personal information.

+ Ability to appropriately use and demonstrate proficiency at the Basic level of MS Word and Excel.
