Project Engineer
Up to 68 an hour
1 year contract
Holly Springs, NC
Field construction/CSA and general conditions representing DP FG
CSA and non-production space building project ownership
Transition to non-CSA construction discipline support after primary CSA is complete
Cold room ownership for building
Support general field construction activities as assigned
Field walk downs and quantity surveying as needed
Schedule accountability for assigned area of responsibility
Monitor sub-contractor costs and change-orders
Attendance to daily or other routine construction coordination meetings
Responsibilities include:
Monitor and assure coordination among sub-contractors through participation in daily construction meetings and submit any relevant information to the team
Support Jacobs construction teams schedule through reviews
Participate in designated sub-contractor regular planning meetings
Represent team in sub-contractor work package commercial meetings as designated
Monitor construction progress against schedule
Report progress to DPFG team, and represent the DPFG team in its responsibility for full delivery of the DPFG facility
Significant percentage of time (up to 80%) in the field
Experience and contacts;
Minimum 5 years of engineering/construction oriented project management.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing sub-contracts
Minimum 3 years of experience planning/scheduling construction activity
Knowledge and Skill;
Engineering degree (B.S.) strongly preferred in civil, structural, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
OSHA 10 or 30 hour training a plus
Leadership and influence of people not directly reporting to the position.
Understanding and/or formal training in CSA activities.
Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organizing and planning skills.
Demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers and operations staff.
Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
The position requires climbing stairs a ladders occasionally, including accessing scaffolding.
