Description **A leading global supplier of automotive test equipment and automotive test systems for powertrain and vehicle development is hiring a passionate and experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience in heavy metal and rotational design**

**Position Summary:**

Responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects from point of sale to customer acceptance with maximum corporate profit and to perform these activities with the available resources within the constraints of time, cost, and performance/technology. Is singularly responsible for all parameters of project performance, schedule, budget, and specifications.

**Essential Duties:**


+ Manage numerous small projects.
+ Track project status and progress and report weekly.
+ Resolve issues of project scope and schedule.
+ Structure project WBS and schedule materials and labor using Fourth Shift.
+ Issue resolution.
+ Create powertrain test cell specifications.
+ Task management.
+ Accountable for project costs and overall project gross margin.
+ Sales support.
+ Manage vendors and subcontractors.
+ Primary customer contact for project contractual and specifications issues.
+ Scheduling of materials and resources using Fourth Shift and MS Project.
+ Moderate level of travel to customer sites
+ As a Project Engineer, could be responsible for a variable amount of proposals/estimate. These responsibilities may include

+ Lead the proposal process and define milestones and requirements for the proposal and estimates.

+ Ensure that proposal and estimates are complete when required.

+ Work with all business groups to ensure that scope and risk are accounted for in the proposal.

+ Work with engineering proposal team to generate materials and labor estimates for projects.

+ Work with customer and sales engineer to determine project scope and requirements.

+ Manage change to estimates, record and maintain all estimate documentation and specifications.

+ Manage estimate storage and archival folders and databases.
**Requirements**


+ BS degree in Engineering with at least 10 years related experience of test facility engineering design experience with 2 years of electronics systems integration or test facility construction project management experience) OR MS degree in Engineering with at least 8 years of engineering design experience with 1 year of test facility construction or electronics systems integration project management experience)
+ **Mechanical Engineer with experience in heavy metal and rotational design.**
+ **Knowledge of design and operation of fluid and air process systems used in powertrain testing** .
+ Working Knowledge of **powertrain testing and testing equipment.**
+ Working knowledge of construction management.
+ Experience using MS Project.
+ **Dynamometer** theory and practice in powertrain **testing applications** .
+ Different engine fuels applications and testing
+ Knowledge of EPA test procedures and emissions equipment
