Description **Purpose:**
Lead projects to deliver complex automotive projects. Plan, maintain, execute and manage assigned projects to ensure projects are delivered on time with quality. Support engineering integration activities related to project requirements.

**Project Management**


+ **Lead project development teams to deliver major projects on time with quality.**
+ Responsible for the successful execution of all assigned projects meeting customer requirements.
+ Responsible for all customer interaction including communication, documentation submission, and positive relationship management.
+ Act as a key interface between engineering, other departments, suppliers and customers with respect to project deliverables.
+ **Plan and maintain accurate project plans and budgets**

+ Ensure the project scope, and core deliverables are clearly summarized in the project brief.

+ Work with all project stakeholders to establish an accurate and feasible plan.

+ Identify and maintain project budgets including BOM costs, ED&D, etc.

+ Identify critical path or high risk activities. Maintain focus on these activities throughout the life of the project.

+ Maintain an accurate project plan throughout the life of the project.

+ Ensure all stakeholder grant approvals at each project gate.
+ Maintaining an effective project issue list

+ Each issue must be recorded and detailed to include an accurate description, status, assigned responsibility and follow up actions.

+ Each issue to be periodically reviewed and updated to ensure the project moves forward without risk to timing or other project outcomes.

+ Issues which are likely to affect project deliverables must be immediately escalated to management.
+ Conduct regular Project Team (PT) meetings to ensure open communication is maintained with all project stakeholders.

+ Ensure project timing and open issues are effectively communicated and reviewed.

+ Distributes meeting minutes after each PT meeting.
+ Sourcing and Quotation

+ Review customer **RFQ** s and liaise with customers to determine project requirements.

+ Work with the product design team in Australia create engineering documentation related to RFQ activity.

+ Support sales to finalise RFQ responses.

+ Support procurement with sourcing activities inc. supplier selection, component procurement, Bill Of Materials, etc.
+ Take ownership and execute all program management activities in the time allocated. Typical standard project management activities are;

+ Liaise with

+ Australian engineering team to **create engineer documentation including DVPR, FMEA, PPAP, 2D, 3D, samples,** etc.

+ Quality department to collate and submit **PPAP documentation** .

+ Sales to ensure customer milestones are clearly defined, and that purchase orders are received.

+ Procurement to ensure material is ordered and procured in preparation for part build or customer deliverables.

+ Suppliers to manage part builds, purchase orders, contracts, etc.

+ Working within the project administrative system to monitor and maintain part status.

+ Actively pursue stakeholders on critical path activities.
+ Weekly reporting to management on project status.
+ At project completion ensure all documentation is completed and communicated.
**Engineering Support**

Support the development and integration of **automotive electrical systems (wiring, sensors and electronic control modules)** for the purpose of producing commercial products;


+ Vehicle Integration

+ **Analysis of automotive discrete and CAN systems**

+ Determine the best location to access discrete and CAN wires on each vehicle.

+ Discrete systems. Log and analyse CAN and discrete signals to identify signal behaviour relative to vehicle function.

+ Design and develop vehicle kits for seamless integration inc. wiring, sensors and electronic control modules.

+ Install vehicle kits for integration and fitting instruction development or approval purposes.

+ Ensure all parts and kits released to customer are compliant to ADR and other country specific regulations.

+ Facilitate and contribute to technical discussions with customers on vehicle integration topics.
+ **2D Drawings and 3D CAD.**

+ Work with the product design team in Australia to develop 3D models of wiring, plastics and metals.

+ Approve and release 2D drawings detailing wiring, plastics, metals, assemblies and kitting requirements.

+ Issue drawings and 3D CAD where required to internal and external stakeholders for sourcing, development, approval and manufacturing purposes.

+ Ensure all drawings released are error free, and comply with customer specific requirements.
+ Adhere to internal processes, and **ISO/TS16949 and IATF16949 standards.**
+ Maintain confidentiality of company’s commercial information.
+ Ensure prompt escalation to management on issues that negatively affect team morale, project status or workflow.
+ Travel as required.
+ All other activities as directed by management
**Requirements:**


+ BS in engineering
+ 5+ years as a project manager and managing 5+ projects simultaneously
+ **Automotive industry experience, and electronic components**
+ Experience with MS project, MS suite and CAD.
+ Excellent organization, attention to details and customer management experience.
