Client that bring imagination to life is currently hiring a Project Manager, position is a Contract without an end date (Urgent need, a Contractor can be hired quickly. The right person will be groomed for a Direct Hire).


Summary:

Project Manager needed as primary liaison between clients and internal stakeholders to communicate updates and drive deliverables to completion. Activities will include driving workflow process and general customer relationship and partnering activities. This role effectively performs the required tasks to ensure timely go-lives and customer satisfaction and addressing critical customer service issues. The Project Manager will work in conjunction with the customer by gathering customer requirements, defining best practices, designing decisions, policy and procedures development, and also, finally, tracking details to monitor project health, identify and mitigate risk, and resolve issues as they arise.


The Project Manager will be responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining schedules, budgets, resource plans and deliverables for large scale projects. This position requires a holistic understanding of the overall business, project goals and targets, while also tracking details to monitor project health, identify and mitigate risk, and resolve issues as they arise


This is a technology company and thus the role will be managing workloads which include complex systems. Having a comfort level with terms, acronyms, and tech-based topics is key to success. Our clients are well educated in entertainment technologies and this will also be required of the APM for client communications. Many vendors are tech-based companies and will require an understanding of these technologies to be accurately managed.


Responsibilities:

Lead regular internal and external meetings to review project progress and status.

Monitor team progress toward goals and objectives, as well as produce detailed plans for effective communication ensuring that the client and internal team understand the goals and deadlines associated.

Work closely with the Project Management team to coordinate shop wide workflow.

Assist in developing and selecting overall processes, standards, templates, and controls for the project management team.

Work in collaboration with the Creative Director, Mechanical and Electrical/Controls Engineering Management, Technical Design Managers, and our Project Management team to drive projects to completion on-time and on-budget while still maintaining high quality standards.

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.

Create and update project plans on an ongoing basis.

Track and maintain project objectives and risks.

Maintain oversight and control of project scope to ensure compliance and to identify potential out of scope requests requiring a change order.

Monitor internal progress and metrics for Creative, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering activities during project design phases.

Monitor production and quality to ensure company, customer/stakeholder standards and requirements are met.

Manage resources in collaboration with functional managers and leads to ensure project stays on schedule and budget.

Manage a portfolio of small and large projects.

Lead meetings and set expectations for project team.

Develop and track project budgets.

Report internally and externally on project progress, risks, schedule, budget, and recovery plans.

Represent company in project meetings, assist in schedule/deadline negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.

Manage financial aspects of project contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with the client.

Travel expectation less than 5% of the year.

Develop support documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications.

Provide guidance and oversight as required for project management team.

Work with the PMO team to manage overall project management approach, templates for schedules, reporting, action tracking registers, communication templates for standardization, and consistency for both internal and external communications.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Art, or related discipline.

Five or more years experience in large-scale project management or related discipline.

Proficiency with project management software tools, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint etc.

Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.

Proven leadership skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Experienced problem-solver in tight deadline situations.

Ability to accept constructive criticism and apply it to future work.

Ability to prioritize tasks and resources, hit deadlines and maintain consistent productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with directing and implementing processes.

Demonstrated knowledge about project management techniques and tools.

Outstanding Technical communication skills - both verbal and written.

Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop innovative strategies to improve operational efficiency/processes, team competence, and client satisfaction.

Background building and maintaining business relationships with key stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.


Preferred Skills:

PMP certification is a plus.

Three or more years of theme park/themed environment industry experience.

Experience with highly complex, engineered solutions.

Knowledge of project accounting, including earned value management, WIP schedules and AIA documents.

Hands-on knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques including machine part/metalworking, electrical & controls, fiberglass/composites, sculpting and soft skin systems.

Experience managing the creative approval process for major IP holders.

Familiarity with contracts and scope specifications.

Experience managing tech vendors.
