**Project Manager**


**Summary:**


We are seeking an experienced individual responsible for planning, tracking, and supporting the timely execution of cross-functional projects across the company's continuum of research and development. The individual will be responsible for coordinating the generation of comprehensive product development plans, facilitating the formation and activities of cross-functional project teams, and tracking the progress for multiple projects within our product portfolio. This role will require close interactions with external stakeholders and internal cross-functional groups, including research and development, process development, manufacturing, clinical and regulatory affairs. This will be a full-time position located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA. The position and compensation package level will be competitive and tailored to the specific level of the candidate.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Apply project management best practices in the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing of projects.

+ Assess current and potential partnerships to ensure our company pursues opportunities that will yield the most impact for our partners.

+ Develop and execute integrated project plans, identify rate-limiting factors and critical dependencies.

+ Provide operational support to project management function to build best practices and standards.

+ Maintain program-specific timelines and deliverables, including critical program, financial, and communication milestones.

+ Manage project authorizations, the scope of work, and key assumptions underpinning the project in R&D portfolio development.

+ Establish project plans in our project software, engaging relevant team members.

+ Lead the development of project management and project plan templates and tools to best enable PM to facilitate and advance projects.

+ Report on internal key metrics such as activity metrics, preclinical and clinical milestones.

+ For Partnered projects, work closely with the Partners project manager and project team to coordinate activities aligned with the Partnership.

+ Work with internal groups and partners to troubleshoot issues arising through the implementation or integration processes.


**Qualifications:**


+ BS/BA degree; higher education degree preferred.

+ Minimum of 4 years experience within the biotechnology industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

+ Experience in partnership relations is desirable.

+ Domain knowledge scientific, cell therapy, immunology, etc. is an asset.

+ Knowledge of Project Management Professional (PMP) applications preferred

+ Strong proficiency with project management practices, tools, and methodology including MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, One Pager, Power BI, Integrated Portfolio Management, PPM platforms

+ Excellent meeting management/facilitation skills/teamwork and team-building skills

+ Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.

+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

+ Self-motivating and creative, working within a team and collaborating proficiently with colleagues to achieve program goals.
