**Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager**

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the science and culture of a well-funded biotech start-up company with an experienced management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving project management tasks supporting R&D and manufacturing projects, including planning, decision-making, and developing implementation strategies. As a Project Manager, you will work with team members to create and maintain project plans and timelines, which may include budget, definition, scope, dependencies, and target dates. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will lead cross functional internal/external project team activities. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Operations.


We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and creative project management professional with experience in managing multiple projects with tight timelines. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, who has outstanding written and oral communication skills, enjoys a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and has the ability to communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.


**Primary Responsibilities include:**

Establish and maintain functionally integrated project schedules and timelines to enable accurate project, financial and portfolio plans and ensure accurate inputs are provided into business planning processes.

Manage R&D and/or manufacturing projects across programs, including but not limited to non-clinical studies, manufacturing of drug substance/product, regulatory submissions, etc.

Lead project meetings with cross-functional team members to assess status updates.

Report project status to management to support transparency on portfolio progress, timeline, resources, and budget.

Communicate effectively with any external service providers and across all functional groups so that the schedules and scope of projects are clear.

Identify project issues such as resource, technical or scheduling constraints and assist to resolve these issues by developing risk assessments, options, and proposed solutions.

Escalate potential concerns in deliverables or unforeseen issues and solicit feedback from leadership in implementing contingency plans to mitigate risks.

Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget and scope.

Assist with project closeout and provide summaries/feedback for proposed process change.

Share and implement lessons learned across projects and stakeholders as needed.

Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for streamlining business processes.

Ensure proper documentation of all key project deliverables and upload documentation on internal document management system (Box).


**Requirements:**

Bachelors degree or equivalent required (life sciences or business discipline preferred). Advanced degree and/or certification in project management (PMP or PgMP) preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical drug development and at least four (4) years of experience in a project management role.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, good problem-solving abilities, and an ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse, cross-functional team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proficiency with project planning tools is preferred (e.g., Smartsheet or MS Project).

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to function effectively and tactfully with multiple team members.

Understanding of biotechnology/drug development and of multi-project planning and coordination is required.

Thrives in a fast-pace environment.

Continuous improvement knowledge (Lean or Six Sigma) Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Process-oriented.

Strong attention to details and solid analytical skills.
