Description **Job Description**

Seeking an experienced Property Senior Claims Adjuster who will handle assignments, investigate, document, evaluate, adjust/negotiate, report, and settle property losses requiring inspection. Must have the ability to work well with internal/external customers and to work independently and efficiently meeting required deadlines by being organized and detail-oriented.

Open positions on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai.


* Must have a clear understanding of customer service, and has strong interpersonal, organizational and negotiation Skills.

* Uses knowledge of property and construction, and/or knowledge of the specific industry or business affected, personally conduct property inspections and photograph claim sites as necessary to depict and substantiate losses or damage, or the lack thereof.

* Can work cooperatively with experts as needed to conduct investigations, confirm findings, and support evaluations.

* Applies understanding of insurance policies and policy interpretation, establishing appropriate loss estimates based on all relevant information and findings.

* Recommends the reasonable and proper coverage direction and as appropriate the amount the insurance company should pay on a claim.

* Ensures the accuracy of information collected and reported and guard against fraudulent claims, based on critical issues identified and accurate conclusions drawn.

* Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers on conclusions and recommendations.

* Maintains accurate, thorough field notes, journal entries, and time and expense records as required.

* Physical ability and willingness to climb onto roofs and into attics and other small places and to lift and climb ladders. Can investigate insurance claims in any of a variety of settings.



* 3 to 5 years of previous experience in residential and/or commercial property claims handling, to include strong technical knowledge of structural damage repair and valuation techniques, or equivalent, required

* Knowledge of property claim law and has a clear understanding of claims adjudication process; skills in analyzing, interpreting, synthesizing, prioritizing, and reporting pertinent information and discerning the essential from the non-essential

* Research and investigative abilities; negotiating, conflict resolution and persuasion abilities

* Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other software and experience with Xactimate estimating system

* Baccalaureate degree in a related field, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge and critical thinking skills

* Familiar with Hawaii statutes and regulations and an active license or ability to promptly obtain such, in the state of Hawaii

* Ability to handle a high volume workload

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Valid driver's license and good driving record required

* Haag Certification or willingness to pursue is a plus

* Capacity to work on all islands as needed
