Description **Pump Mechanic**

**2nd shift M-F 4 PM- 1 AM**

**Train on days the move to Monday-Friday 4 PM- 1 AM**

**$18 Hour**

Our client a leader in the oil and gas service industry located in Minot, ND is currently seeking pump assemblers/mechanics. This is a long term assignment that will last 5-6 months however depending on incoming work load may last longer or may have the possibility to go temp to perm.

Seeking applicants with general mechanical skills who will be working in the yard and the shop where needed.

**Must have forklift experience. Experience working on or repairing pumps or mechanic experience (cars,truck manufacturing).**

**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:** Possess knowledge of centrifugal pumps, mud pumps, vain pumps or rotation equipment as well as comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills. When assembling pumps must be able to determine, whether certain components can be salvaged or discarded for scrap. A basic understanding of the form and function of assembly components. Must be able to accurately use measuring instruments and must have stable work history. Physical Demands: Required to work standing up during the majority of the shift, occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull up to 60 pounds of force. Must be able to operate crane/hoist and pallet jack. Repetitive use of hands and wrists while using hand tools. Must be able to bend up to two thirds of the shift and reach below shoulders often.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:** High School Diploma or equivalent.

**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:** Assembling intricate and complex types of pumps and motors where close fitting and aligning are important. Disassembles parts by un-fastening bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand tools and portable powered tools. Operates drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. Cleans the components including motors, pumps, seals, shafts, stators, gas separators and intakes. Performs repetitive mechanical activities, operates a crane/hoist to transport the pumps to the shop from the delivery vehicle.
