Description **Purchasing Manager Position Available (Direct Hire) - Aurora OH**

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager for one of their top manufacturing companies in the Aurora, OH area.

**Job Responsibilities**


+ Managing and optimizing of the assigned department Purchasing
+ Designing the business process „procurement“ in such a way that all required supplies and services can be purchased in the appropriate quality, at the right time and at the most favorable cost
+ Fulfillments of KPI’s, targets and focus activities of the department materials management to contribute to company results
+ Disciplinary and functional leadership responsibility for assigned staff
+ Responsible for planning, administering, and completing assigned projects
**Team Responsibilities & Accountabilities:**


+ Complies with company policies and work instructions to ensure efficient management of the business. Development and maintenance of such work instructions. This includes both work instructions as well as the department purchasing manual.
+ Implement the requirements of quality management system as they apply to the department.
+ Participate in training and audit programs to support continuous improvement as required.
+ Active input on Excess and Obsolete inventory team.
+ Team member of S&O Planning team to improve lead times

+ Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and cultivate positive working relationships with staff.
+ Promote a department staffed with empowered, cross-trained Buyers working with the highest of integrity in an environment of trust, security and mutual respect.
**Management Responsibilities:**


+ Plan, organize, direct and supervise the efforts of the assigned employees. (3 direct reports)
+ Conducts performance appraisals in accordance with the company’s procedures, recommends transfers, upgrades and remuneration of assigned staff.
+ Where necessary, enforces disciplinary procedures, codes and guidelines.
+ Review and collaborate with staff for the identification and implementation of needed training and skill attainment.
+ Mentor and develop staff as well as supporting succession planning.
**Qualifications:**


+ Bachelors degree plus three to five years related experience in the purchasing field or the equivalent
+ Experience with strategic and global sourcing, as well as the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required.
+ Experience with negotiations, contract law and U.S. / global anti-trust laws preferred.
+ Formal certifications (APICS – CPIM, ISM – C.P.M., CSPM or PMP) preferred.
+ Cross-cultural competence and experience preferred.
