**Title:** QA Technician


1st (6:00am-2:00pm)

2nd (2:00pm-10:00pm)

**Objective:** Provide support and perform duties designated by Quality Assurance Manager at the Yuba City, CA manufacturing plant.

Generally, the Quality Assurance Specialists monitors and coordinates verification of HACCP Plan and Food Safety Plan Critical Control Points/Preventive Control Points as well as the entire range of standard and specialized sampling and testing of raw materials, packaging, finished product, pre-op inspections, auditing functions and environmental samples with the objective of improving and ensuring that established procedures are followed. Perform all assigned duties personally or through the indirect supervision of Quality Control Line Technicians working closely with Production Managers/Supervisors.

The Quality Assurance Technician will report directly to the plant Quality Assurance Manager and will work be required to work a flexible schedule.


Responsible for HACCP, GMPs, and Safety / regulatory requirements.

Conduct Metal detector checks following HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans as Control Point requirements.

Conduct pre-operational and/or operational swabbing.

Conduct all Critical Control Point/Preventive Control Point critical limit checks as per the HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans.

Conduct temperature checks and documentation.

Ensure all finished product packaging lot codes are correct and record findings making sure corrective actions are taken if lot codes are found to be incorrect.

Conduct thermometer calibration as directed by Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Place product on hold as per HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans when a deviation occurs and alert plant management accordingly.

Ensure all employees are following GMPs at all times. Lead by example.

Conduct scale and balances daily checks.

Report any food safety and quality issues to Quality Assurance supervisor and /or QA manager.

Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.

Conduct weight checks and properly document.

Perform quality control checks at the production line (process control).

Interact with supervisors to resolve problems.

Must be able to communicate clearly.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Other duties as designated by the Production Manager in conjunction with the plant Quality Assurance Manager.


High school diploma required.

Food manufacturing or food service experience is a plus but not required.

Ability to work well with people.

Computer Proficient

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to chemicals and must use appropriate personal protective equipment. The noise level in the food manufacturing environment can be loud.

**Travel/Physical Demands**

Regular required to travel between manufacturing facilities

Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, etc.);

Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time;

Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk;

Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment;

Close vision required for computer usage;

Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 20 pounds;
