Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking candidates for a **Laboratory Manager** for one of our top clients in Minneapolis, MN. **This is a Direct Hire position.**

As a **Laboratory Manager** placed with client, you will be responsible for overseeing company’s QC laboratory, train and provide direction to Chemist and Technicians. The position is responsible for day to day laboratory operation in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice and is accountable for maintaining a high standard of QC testing to assure manufactured products are produced within specifications.

**Key responsibilities of the position:**


+ Manage the chemists and technicians staffing the Quality Control Laboratory and function as the lead in all areas related to testing and laboratory operations, plus the responsibility for the review and approval of all new production formulas. Manage administration and documentation.
+ Develop and direct batch adjustments in collaboration with customers and Operations to correct out of specification products.
+ Collaborate with customers with respect to: formula scale up, formula optimization, test batches and process improvement.
+ Manage and maintain laboratory supply ordering.
+ Ensure the functionality and fitness of all laboratory apparatus and ensure that all required calibrations are performed and recorded as required. Manage methods assurance practices.
+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regulations as they apply to the Laboratory and participate on the Company’s Safety Committee and assist in its operations.
+ Ensure the accurate testing of all chemical blends and the timely documentation of results in the Laboratory Information Software System and function as administrator for the software application.
+ Ensure that the Laboratory operates in accordance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
+ Maintain an adequate knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they relate to the handling, storage, disposal of chemicals tested and used in the laboratory. Provide assessments for chemical recycling and disposal activities.
+ Prepare the Laboratory budget and manage its expenditures within that guide and participate in the recruitment of Laboratory personnel as necessary.
+ Train and manage all personnel in the Technical Department in a manner which develops them professionally and leads to their increased competence.
**Educational and experience requirements:**


+ Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry, with 5+ years’ experience in the field.
+ 5+ years of managerial experience
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
