**Quality Control (QC) Technician - Dietary Supplements / Food, Los Angeles, CA**



**Summary of Job:** The Quality Control (QC) Technician will perform quality inspection functions in support of the Quality department. Primary responsibilities include assisting in inspection and release of finished goods (dietary supplements and food), physical testing of finished goods, assist with product quality investigations and manage data entry of test data.



**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**




+ Inspect and perform organoleptic evaluation of food retain samples.

+ Perform review of certificates of analyses (C of As) and manufacturing documents related to food finished goods.

+ Manage, file and store food finished goods, C of As, and retain samples.

+ Inspect dietary supplement finished goods against finished good specifications.

+ Review dietary supplement product certificates, manufacturing documents and labels for accuracy.

+ Assist with reviewing and revising standard operating procedures and forms.

+ Coordinates stability tests including preparing samples and sample submission forms for laboratory testing of products.

+ Assemble stability test result data and summarize information into report format.

+ Assist with investigation of customer complaints determining root cause of complaint issue.

+ Perform physical testing on dietary supplement finished goods.

+ Assist with disposition and release of finished goods.

+ Collect and maintain finished good retain samples.

+ Log receipt of finished good samples into QC database.

+ Process product samples for shipping using FedEx shipping system.

+ Maintain product certificates of analysis and product reference standards.

+ Perform administrative duties; including copying and filing.

+ Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.



**Job Requirements:**




+ Minimum of 2 years of college. Prefer Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry, Biology or Physical Sciences.

+ Previous work experience in quality systems and/or laboratory testing.

+ Knowledge of quality systems.

+ Knowledge of testing protocols.

+ Good written and verbal communication skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).

+ Ability to assimilate information quickly.

+ Must be flexible and have the ability to multi-task different projects.

+ Ability to lift 20 pounds.

+ Knowledge of quality systems and dietary supplement cGMPs, 21 CFR part 111 regulation is preferred.

+ Superior organization skills.

+ Knowledge of food quality systems is preferred.

+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
