**Job Title: Quality Control Scientist**





**Pay: $32.50 per hour**




**Description**



A quality control (QC) scientists primary duty is to provide quality control environmental monitoring, critical utility systems, in-process, finished products, stability, cleaning process, and analytical method validation testing according to SOPs, cGMPs and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include performing and reviewing testing during phases of production, providing technical peer review of testing data, writing/revising technical documents including laboratory procedures, protocols and technical reports, independently utilizing microbiological or analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV, ICP-MS, FTIR, TOC, CE, ICE, Karl Fisher, Sterility Isolator, Plate Reader, performing testing using methodologies such as SDS-PAGE, western blotting, IEF, ELISA, PCR, EM, Endotoxins, Bioburden, Sterility and recognizing atypical/out of specification (OOS) results and perform investigation to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Applies technical and functional knowledge to job related duties on most projects/ assignments within own group/project team

Works independently to solve problems of moderate scope

Actively participates, suggests solutions to problems





**Requirements** :

Ph.D. in Biotechnology, or related field with at least 2 years of laboratory experience

MS in Biotechnology, or related field with at least 3 years of industry laboratory experience

B.S/B.A. in Biotechnology, or related field with at least 5 years in a laboratory environment

Associates Degree/Certificate/Diploma in laboratory science with minimum of 7 years in a laboratory

Demonstrates a solid understanding of multiple applicable techniques such as Quality Control

Stability program experience required

Ability to cross-train on techniques across multiple groups

Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction; ability to clearly communicate and provide mentorship to other groups and clients as necessary

Ability to peer review data to ensure data is well organized with complete documentation

Ability to interpret data, analyze trends and provide insight into potential issues and subsequent solutions

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) as well as programs for multiple pieces of laboratory or manufacturing equipment

Ability to write SOPs and reports independently

Ability to complete investigation, deviation, and change control forms independently

Ability to integrate timelines, devise batch records and meet milestones for successful project completion

Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in order to initiate and execute/monitor corrective action

Ability to set deadlines and prioritize work for self, group members, and support groups/individuals involved

Ability to perform accountabilities and responsibilities independently and provide supervisor with updates as necessary

Ability to design protocols and establish project timelines with minimum Supervisor input

Proficient in operation and troubleshooting of a wide variety of analytical instrumentation and data systems

Monitors quality of analyst lab work within group and mentors analysts regarding scientific and regulatory requirements of projects
