We are proud to offer an exciting Temporary Opportunity to work as a QC Technician at a winery in Modesto, CA.





Must be flexible to work any shift below as shift will be assigned!



Work Schedule: Monday - Friday and weekends will be required as needed.




+ Day shift, 6 am - 2:30 pm

+ Swing shift, 2 pm - 10:30 pm

+ Night shift, 10 pm - 6:30 am





Pay Rate is $19.64/hour



Temporary Opportunity until December 2020








SUMMARY

Performs quality assurance testing of raw materials, incoming, in process, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures using quality control laboratory equipment. Determines acceptance of materials and products, provides descriptive statistics of the quality of product and initiate corrective actions with operations. Understands manufacturing processes to provide proper guidance for corrective actions. Updates and maintains standard operating procedures. Maintains Quality Lab supplies and equipment, follows calibration and preventive maintenance programs. Works with all departments as needed using SPC methods to continuously improve Quality Department processes and practices.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS




+ Displays the importance of safety.

+ Demonstrates customer centered attitude and professional appearance.

+ Maintains established production and quality levels with a high sense of urgency.

+ Performs routine and special Quality lab tests on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products as required to assure product quality, using appropriate methods as required and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

+ Uses available quality control laboratory equipment

+ Operates laboratory instruments as required to perform duties.

+ Analyzes and processes laboratory samples.

+ Performs quality checks on analytical procedures and makes necessary adjustments when needed to ensure accuracy of the test(s).

+ Receives rush samples, prioritizes samples and tests, analyzes samples and reports results in a timely manner.

+ Enters test results into databases in a timely manner.

+ Selects and prepares chemical solutions used in the laboratory.

+ Looks for trends in data, recognizes unexpected deviations, performs trouble shooting, and follows communication protocols as outlined by SOPs. Makes valid conclusions and recommends next steps.

+ Using statistical methods, such as SPC charting, analyzes all testing results and assures corrective actions are taken to address out-of-specification and out-of-control situations.

+ Approves or rejects finished product materials according to established specifications and certify analyses of finished product shipments.

+ Develops and maintains Quality lab and production process test standards.

+ Prepares and maintains updated Quality lab testing procedures, improving them as needed to reduce testing variation.

+ Conduct studies in the Quality lab and in production to improve control of gauging and reduce measurement process variation.

+ Develop and maintain the Quality lab database system, using data summaries and reports as needed.

+ Performs instrument calibration and preventive maintenance, assuring that equipment is in good working order, calibrated, accurate and repeatable.

+ Investigates and reconciles errors and report needed adjustments to QE, Production Manager for final decision.

+ Learns and practices the basic requirements of ISO 9001:2000 regarding document control, calibration, measurement, and monitoring of product.

+ Works with all Quality department team members as needed to solve problems and achieve improvement objectives.

+ Participates on G3 teams to solve problems and improve work processes, product quality and customer satisfaction.

+ Participates in investigations and in the completion of corrective actions for customer complaints.

+ Completes special projects as assigned.

+ Participates in the development and facilitation of team meetings, presentations, and formal training programs.

+ Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

+ Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

+ Follows GMP guidelines.

+ Participates in the operation of the bottling line to optimize packaging rates and ensure quality standards.

+ During non-peak times, may be assigned to G3 repack operation or G3 Closure Lab, performing various duties as assigned by management when needed.

+ Works on Bottling line as needed, where abilities align with job function and skill level. Examples may be packing bottles, unpacking glass, palletizing, and re-work etc..

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS




+ High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

+ Associates degree to include 2 years of college level lab courses plus 1 year of laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment; or 3 years of Laboratory Technician experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

+ Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.

+ Up to 25% travel within California required.

+ Valid drivers license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California drivers license or appropriate state drivers license within 30 days of hire.

+ Required to work the off shifts and weekends to support bottling.

+ Experience reading, understanding and following Standard Operating Procedures.

+ Skilled in utilizing basic hand tools (pliers, wrench, screwdriver, knife, etc.) to perform machine adjustments and minor repairs.

+ Experience identifying problems and making adjustments or improvements.

+ Skilled in reading and writing comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

+ Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

+ Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS




+ Bachelors degree in chemistry, food science, or biology to include 2 years of college level chemistry courses plus 1 year of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing

+ environment.

+ Experience maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment.

+ Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.

+ Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

+ Skilled in the use of MS Office applications.

+ Experience working with mathematical concepts, such as statistical inference, fractions, and percentages in practical applications.

+ Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

+ Experience with working cross-functionally within the company.
