**Position: Quality Control Technician/Paint Operator**

**Location: Gilbert, Arizona**

**Shift: 8am-4:30pm M-F**

**Pay: $19/hour-DOE**



The QC Technician is responsible for the production quality compliance, labeling, product testing, and follow up.

+ Inspects products at various stages of the process and evaluates and uses data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of latex/acrylic paint products.

+ Respond to assembly line stopping calls created by in-house quality or manufacturing quality issues.

+ Perform line audits/inspections including unit paint inspection, production line performance and quality trend tracking, technical troubleshooting (color, appearance, etc.) and reporting.

+ Responsibilities will specifically be focused on performing accurate quality control testing.

+ Responsibilities also include using lab equipment, keeping the production area in good condition, and preparing paint orders for shipment fulfillment.

+ The QC Technician contributes to a positive team atmosphere and applies safety guidelines in a fair and consistent manner.


**include the following other duties may be assigned :**

+ Manufacturing and packaging Acrylic/Latex paint products from our APM System

+ Tinting color to color specifications and complying with QC procedures for our production department

+ Adjust dispensed product (color correction), under QC guidance, until it is approved

+ Maintain accurate work order files and formulas as needed

+ Maintaining work records by recording batch/order info, and materials and supplies used

+ Operate all material handling, tinting, mixing and testing equipment in a safe manner

+ Record information on appropriate forms for proper completion of orders/ requests and process in a timely manner.

+ Maintains clean and safe work site by cleaning up after order production following safety rules and procedures and wearing personal protective equipment

+ Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.

+ Identify obsolete/damaged material and communicate to management

+ Locate out-of-stock items as necessary and replenish needed items to the production area

+ Must be able to operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.).

+ Must be familiar with the proper, handling, storing, labeling, cleaning up spills, disposing of and filing all paperwork associated with hazardous material/waste

+ Able to read order tickets and prepare labels for products; basic math

+ Able to operate high speed dispersers and other operating equipment

+ Able to operate high speed dispersers and other operating equipment

+ Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on following documented procedures


+ **Sets realistic daily goals; prioritizes tasks to optimize efficiency; maintains a continual flow of information to chemists; shifts readily between projects; assists others in the R D team as required, accepts changes in assignments and works with teammates to transition smoothly.**


+ **Brings workplace issues to attention of superiors.**


+ **Assists in training and helping others with procedures as required.**


Prior experience as a paint mixer with color matching abilities to distinguish the difference between colors and understand pigment variations and characteristics of the tinting process. Basic architectural paint knowledge and an understanding of latex and acrylic paint characteristics


+ **High School Degree, Active Drivers license, COVID Vaccinated**

+ **Desire college level chemistry laboratory course completion or 1 year of Paint making or relevant experience**


+ **Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, or governmental regulations; able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels of the organization.**


+ **Ability to calculate figures, amounts, percentages, ratios and tolerances; ability to write simple equations for Excel required.**


+ **Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form; ability to interpret test results; ability to recognize a process or result is atypical and should be reported.**


+ **Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and to talk and hear; the employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods, walk, sit and use hands to type, and write**
