**Quality Control Technician, PCR**

**Position Overview**

The Quality Control Technician, Cell Therapy Development, will report to the Senior Quality Control Scientist. This position will support assay development and stem cell therapy manufacturing and release testing related to induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derived dopaminergic progenitor cells of a first-in-human clinical trial for the treatment of Parkinsons Disease.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Performs RNA extraction and quantification, reverse transcription, PCR, qRT-PCR (QuantStudio), and endotoxin (EndoSafe PTS) analysis.

+ Supports management to develop, optimize, validate, and implement QC testing strategies.

+ Ensures proper tracking and storage of test samples and associated controlled documentation.

+ Assists in validation, routine maintenance, and calibration for QC instrumentations.

+ Monitors equipment performance, diagnoses malfunctions, and initiates service requests.

+ Supports preparation of SOP, methods protocols, reports, and other documentation.

+ Works within a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, bioinformatic specialists and research/development associates, and closely with Quality Assurance

+ May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


+ BS degree or higher in cellular or molecular biology, chemistry, physics or engineering (e.g. biochemical).

+ Minimum of 1-2+ years hands-on laboratory experience required. Experience in a Quality Control group or in a GxP environment viewed preferentially.

+ Hand-on experience with quantitative RT-PCR, safety related release testing (sterility, endotoxin), and other common analytical assays.

+ Working knowledge of other cellular and molecular biology approaches.

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical methods applicable to the analysis of experimental data.

+ Working knowledge of cGMP/ICH/USP guidelines a plus.
