Kelly Engineering Resources is working with a food container manufacturer located in the south suburbs that is looking to add a Quality Engineer to their team. In this role, your primary focus (60%)is to ensure the QMS systems are function properly in order to maintain ISO and SQF Certification. Your secondary focus (40%) is data analysis for continuous improvement, root cause analysis, CMM maintenance and equipment calibration.


**Essential Responsibilities:**


+ Maintain quality systems to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 as well as SQF System

+ Lead internal & external ISO audits

+ Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System, including the GMPs, and the food safety plans

+ Have an understanding of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacture of Food Packaging and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF System relevant to food sector category 27.

+ Serve as the SQF Site Practitioner with responsibility for verification and validation of the SQF system.

+ Review and analyze past quality difficulties and the preventative actions associated with them to determine effectiveness.

+ Analyze SPC data daily for input accuracy and statistical analysis of opportunities for improvement.

+ Train manufacturing personnel in SPC, parts inspection, parts measurement, and documentation.

+ Responsible for calibration, maintenance, and documentation of measurement equipment.

+ Maintain and manage SPC software/equipment coordinating with vendors as needed.

+ Work with maintenance to maintain and manage visual inspection software/equipment ensuring accurate defect detection.

+ Perform administrative duties including training documentation, calibration schedules, internal ISO audit schedules, etc.

+ Identify opportunities for quality improvement and work with cross functional team to establish root cause and corrective action.

+ Lead quality improvement projects as need.

+ Support sustainability initiatives, leading projects and teams as needed to reduce overall carbon footprint of facility.


**Qualifications of the Successful Quality Engineer**


+ Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree with relevant years of experience required.

+ 5+ years minimum experience in quality with a working knowledge of auditing quality systems for ISO 9001 & SFQ required, certified auditor a plus.

+ Other specialize training in GMP, sanitation, required, food plans, chemical control a plus.

+ Proficient with statistical analysis required

+ Proficient with MS Office is required, minitab or related statistical software proficiency a plus.

+ Required interpersonal skills: self-starter, team player, collaborator, problem solve without blame, proactive in developing and implementing solutions.

+ Communication skills required:

+ Adaptable writing styles and verbal communication to appropriate audience

+ Presentation skills a plus
