**6+ month contract via Kelly Services**



**Mission Statement:**



Position is responsible for quality control consisting of the inspection, sampling, measuring, and testing of parts and materials to ensure compliance with established standards of quality. Perform administrative functions to assist senior managers in overall operations of the department. Resolve technical problems. Develop and implement measures to continuously improve the quality management plan.





**Main Accountabilities:**



1. Follow safe work practices, comply with policies and procedures, proper and safe use of equipment and tools, and identify and report unsafe working conditions.



2. Develop and implement quality control plans.



3. Responsible for and able to perform detailed mechanical and visual inspections of new parts, supplier samples, and products to verify dimensional data in accordance with quality requirements, drawings, inspection instructions or other applicable documentation.



4. Develop sampling and inspection plans.



5. Responsible to document and archive all dimensional data in accordance with quality inspection plans.



6. Support risk assessments (DFMEA/PFMEA), first article, incoming, and in-process inspection.



7. Support calibration processes to ensure that all inspection, measurement and test equipment is properly maintained, and calibration certificates are valid.



8. Adhere to nonconforming product procedures and execute timely disposition of materials to maintain orderly inventory management.



9. Initiate and coordinate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) improvement projects across the company and with external suppliers, as needed.



10. Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses. Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures. Determine quality improvement parameters by analyzing data and completing process capability studies.





**Dimensions:**



Requires thorough knowledge of complex quality control operations and a variety of equipment and processes. Requires ability to resolve complex problems, communicate effectively, represent the group, influence decisions, foresight to anticipate problems and recognize opportunities for cost-effectively improving quality assurance and quality control operations.





**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:**



Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Metrology, or related field plus 3 to 5 years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.



Ability to use all standard mechanical inspection instruments, including but not limited to: microscopes, micrometers, comparators, calipers, gages, and dimensional verification equipment.



Minimum 3 years of experience programming automated CMMs, using FARO, PolyWorks, or other measuring and digital scanning applications.



Strong skills in drawing interpretation and ability to conceptualize and articulate measurement and inspection concepts professionally.



Working knowledge of mechanical CAD systems such as CREO to interpolate models for the inspections or scanning requirements.



Thorough working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) standards such as those scripted by ISO (International Standards Organization) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).



Detail-oriented, data-driven, and organized. Ability to multi-task, drive action and hold team accountable to requirements.



Experience with formal problem-solving processes, focused on root cause analysis (8D or similar).



Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross functionally with different departments.



Ability to complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.



Strong technical, verbal, and written communications skills.



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**



Bachelors degree in technical discipline preferred (i.e. Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality Engineering, etc.)



Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP.



Advanced analytical skills (i.e., data collection, data and statistical analysis).



Experience in LEAN/Six Sigma methods.
