Kelly Science is seeking a R&D Lead Chemist in North Chicago, IL!
This is a full time, direct hire, hours 8am-5pm Mon-Fri
Salary Range: $110,000-$120,000
Education
Minimum of a Masters degree in a biological sciences related field
Experience
3+ years of experience in a biological sciences laboratory
3+ years of R&D experience (designing and implementing R&D-based projects)
Experience with performance of RT-PCR and molecular biological techniques
Experience with ELISA testing and bead-based multiplex assays
Experience working in an ISO 17025 laboratory (knowledge on how to implement and maintain lab ISO 17025 preferred)
Personal and Technical Skills
Must have leadership skills
Must be passionate, able to multi-task, and have the ability to learn quickly
Must have the desire to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment
Must be able to work efficiently, follow-through with assignments independently, with excellent attention to detail
Must have strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Position Summary Statement:
Spearhead all R&D efforts under the guidance of the CSO and Lab Head
Identify, design, develop, and implement new molecular-based laboratory assays
Design, write, and implement SOPs/SWIs that comply with our ISO 17025 laboratory quality system
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external use in a suitable and professional manor
Coordinate and manage research projects with universities and/or commercial institutions
Aid in writing/developing publications, posters, and patents
Convert our proprietary ELISAs to multiplex bead-based immunoassay format to be run on a Luminex equipment
Coordinate work with other departments/functions to achieve project objectives
Communicate with senior management
Present new research/ assay development at conferences
