The Materials Informatics team brings together a team of computational material science experts with data scientists and experiment teams to accelerate materials development for niche applications. The focus of the team is towards fundamental research that can be used in improving the performance of key components using advances in Materials.


We are currently seeking a **Computational Chemist Researcher** to join our team in Silicon Valley, CA.


Key Responsibilities


+ Carry out research for new candidate materials organic and phenomenon for energy storage and generation using quantum chemistry computations and machine learning algorithm with our external partners in the US

+ Conduct extensive descriptive analytics on collected data

+ Collaborate with our external research partners e.g., NASA, UCSD, etc.

+ Analyze, summarize and present research findings and results through presentations, reports/documents and publications

+ Create Intellectual Property in the form of patents and published papers

+ Propose and build consensus of a new innovative research theme that will deliver concrete research results for the company


Qualifications and Education Requirements


+ PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field

+ Understanding of fundamentals in organic chemistry, reaction kinetics, structure-property relationships

+ Experience with quantum chemistry computations e.g., Gaussian

+ Experience with a wide range of Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling algorithms/techniques

+ Expertise with Python / hands on experience with machine learning frameworks like Tensor Flow, and Python packages for Data Sciences such as Pandas, Scipy, Numpy etc / Matlab

+ Attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and excellent communication and teamwork skills

+ A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skill
