**Kelly Science has an amazing opportunity for a Radiochemist II in Atlanta GA for one of our growing clients. This is a direct hire opportunity with room for growth and a 100% employer paid medical, vision and dental benefits.**

**Location: Atlanta GA**

**Shift: First shift with overtime expected**

**Job Summary: The employee will manufacture radioactive calibration standards, check sources, proficiency testing samples and sources to support Counting Laboratory and NRMAP/NIST traceability program.**

**Job Description** :

+ Manufactures calibration standards, check sources and PE samples.

+ Manufactures sources to support Counting Laboratory and NRMAP / NIST traceability program.

+ Produces mixed isotope batches e.g., MGS, TCC, GRS, A/F, and others.

+ Performs gas and solution calibrations, reviews, and signs Certificates of Calibration.

+ Maintains laboratory environment, equipment and radionuclide inventory, orders chemicals and laboratory supplies.

+ Plans quarterly ECC HCC cross-check programs. Evaluates data and performs some troubleshooting.

+ Performs inspection of incoming material, QC related measurements and maintains some counting equipment.

+ Supports compliance to the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 17043 and the EZA

+ Quality Manual and ensures respective departmental responsibilities to the standards are met.

+ Performs laboratory radioactive waste collection and consolidation performs clean-up of minor spills.

+ Reviews, revises, and writes procedures.

+ Trains new employees.

**Requirements** :

+ Minimum education or substitute experience required: 4-year degree in Chemistry or related discipline, or 5 years related experience in radiochemistry and standard preparation.

+ Minimum experience required

+ 3 years combining wet radiochemistry analytical balance, operation, dilutions, pipetting , preparation of calibration standards, basics of counting methodology and nuclear physics experience required. Abilities and skills required:

+ Ability to read and understand professional documents. Basic laboratory skills and ability to work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices. Must be detail oriented and possess ability to exercise caution working with open radioactive sources.

+ Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, probability, and statistical inference. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Nuclear data software Ability to work with power tools and machinery, and ability to design a plus.
