aticsKelly Technology has an opening for a **Perm Clinical Informatics Analyst** to work with our client in Sacramento, CA

**REMOTE UNTIL July 2022**


The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of patient population registries and dashboards for Telemedicine analytics and research, including quality and operational improvement as well as research. This includes requirements gathering, data retrieval from a variety of clinical and financial data sources, validation and curation, database administration, and translation of data into informative and actionable visualizations. The incumbent may also participate in strategic initiatives and business development by evaluating and enhancing our suite of BI/analytics tools and advising on an integrated data warehousing strategy.


+ As a high-level Analyst, participate in all aspects of the assigned project(s) from inception to completion and closeout; ensure project time lines are met.

+ Lead complex medium to large projects of significant and critical importance to data asset and report development.

+ Participate in or lead meetings with researchers, physicians, and operational staff to gather and document requirements, identify and resolve issues, and provide status updates.

+ Data analysis and assessment of a variety of complex healthcare data sources including financial, EMR, laboratory, and external.

+ Design and support the extract, transform, load (ETL) procedures that comprise the primary data source for data curation.

+ Designs and runs highly complex scripts (e.g. SQL) for data management and transformation.

+ Performs highly complex quality assurance testing and data validation tests.


+ Analyze and prepare system and technical specifications for clinical data reuse, including interface design specifications and ETL procedures.

+ Program and develop clinical registry solutions

+ Plans, develops, and writes documentation of process and registry population and data definitions for use by customers and other IT groups.

+ Work with other IT groups to implement and monitor software installations and upgrades.

+ System and database administration including ongoing support and backup/recovery.

+ Monitor data quality and work with IT groups to resolve issues related to data source validity.



+ Functions as a high-level developer and performs highly technical responsibilities in accordance with UCDH policies and practices.

+ Participate in workgroups, teams, task forces, and committees to support ongoing division functions.

+ Foster communication and coordinate department, division and UCDH objectives. Establish good rapport and professional working relationships with others while facilitating delivery of services.

+ Assess products and provide input to enhance portfolio of information management and analytics tools.

+ Collaborate in development of data warehousing strategy and integration of existing and new platforms.


+ Minimum 3 years of experience in the analysis, retrieval, and management of clinical data from healthcare software systems.

+ Excellent analytical skills to develop and/or comprehend complex technical, clinical, research, and fiscal information; ability to absorb information to make timely and sound decisions.

+ Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into technical specifications and documentation.

+ Highly proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL); experience with query tuning and optimization.

+ Working knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) applications.

+ Clarity Data Model certification or ability to obtain certification/proficiency within three months of start. - Demonstrated knowledge of data modeling/architecture principles.

+ Advanced interpersonal communication skills to convey highly technical information to all levels of clinical users in a clear and concise manner.

+ Ability to use logic and flow diagrams to describe the functional processes of a system that both end-users and programmers can understand. - Excellent organizational skills to determine and prioritize workload to enable timely completion of tasks.

+ Ability to deal with highly confidential, secured, and financial matters; practical application of HIPAA and privacy rules a plus.

+ Comfortable working independently with minimal direction in a dynamic and diverse environment.

+ Familiarity with data governance and data stewardship principles and practices.


+ Master's degree or equivalent in Health Informatics, Public Health, or Healthcare Administration.

+ Clarity Data Model Ambulatory certification.

+ Previous involvement in quality improvement or research projects related to hospital operations, primary care, telehealth, ambulatory care and operations, etc.

+ Familiarity with visualization/analytics tools (Business Objects, Tableau); ability to translate data into actionable information via graphical representations.
