+ Duration: 12-Month Contract to Possible Hire

+ Location: Remote in Upstate NY (Occasional travel to branch offices in Rochester or Syracuse for meetings or training)


**Whats a typical day as a Corporate Compensation Consultant? Youll be:**


+ Acting as a dedicated business partner to assigned functional area of the organization. Working closely with the management of the functional area and in so doing, becoming an expert at the organizational structure and jobs within that division.

+ Providing counsel and compliance assistance to assigned division(s). Determining customer needs by maintaining contact with division management and business partners.

+ Actively listening to the customers request and offering objective suggestions and alternatives for job description and compensation equity reviews

+ Utilizing interviews with hiring managers and respective business partners to determine job content accuracy and responsibilities; may reach out to incumbents for details or clarification when necessary

+ Ensuring internal equity is reviewed, achieved, and maintained through the management of the job description evaluation and classification process

+ Reviewing, auditing, and processing salary increase proposals/requests

+ Conducting and guiding job evaluation procedures necessary to grade new positions or regrade existing positions. Remaining cognizant of position rankings and maintaining internal and external equity with comparable positions. Communicating results of job evaluation to appropriate management.

+ Conducting external market placement studies including analysis of hiring matrix strategies

+ Preparing responses to national, regional, and local salary surveys conducted by professional firms, trade associations or ad hoc by request or based on company need

+ Working closely with Talent Acquisition and Human Capital Management staff to provide salary guidance on job offers and changes

+ Accessing the HRIS to create and update job codes and related information as well as creating and generating required and requested reports

+ Keeping abreast of developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops, training programs and, as necessary, independent study. Remaining informed regarding current job evaluation techniques and making periodic recommendations to enhance or update the process.

+ Providing advice and support to management and partners in all employee compensation matters

+ Consistently demonstrating high standards of integrity by supporting the company's mission and values and adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct

+ Maintaining high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures


**This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:**


+ A bachelors degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with 2+ years of experience

+ In lieu of degree, a combination of education, internship and/or experience in an HR or Compensation role totaling a minimum of 8 years

+ Experience in compensation practices including job description writing, use of salary surveys to pull market data, and conducting job analysis and market reviews

+ Demonstrated analytical and project management skills

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish effective relationships with all levels of internal staff and outside professionals

+ A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. with exceptional Excel skills

+ Exposure to HRIS database systems and report generation packages

+ Familiarity with Payfactors (preferred)

+ An understanding of legal and regulatory environment that impacts compensation (i.e., Fair Labor Standards Act, Minimum Wage)

+ Strong attention to detail and strong principles of data integrity

+ The ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion

+ Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation (or progress toward) preferred
