Research Associate, Alameda, CA

The Research Associate executes studies under the guidance of their manager and is responsible for performance, quality, troubleshooting, and timeliness of projects assigned. He/she should demonstrate enthusiasm to learn primary cell culture and cell-based assays and train other laboratory members as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Develop proficiency in primary cell culture, cell-based assays, and train other laboratory members.

+ Develop proficiency to analyze and interpret results from cell-based assays such as, but not limited to, flow cytometry, functional assays (e.g. cytokine production, activation, differentiation, MLC, etc.), multiplexed assays, and viability readouts.

+ Design and execute experimental plans for process, product, and assay development projects

+ Manage project timelines, including material sourcing and communication internal teams

+ Accurate entry, tracking, and trending of excel-based product characterization data

+ Analyze and interpret results from cell-based assays such as, but not limited to, flow cytometry, functional assays (e.g., cytokine production, activation, differentiation, MLR, etc.), multiplexed assays, and viability readouts.

+ Support the communication of results and recommendations to technical and non-technical internal audiences via scientific reports and presentations.

+ Contribute to Technical Reports

+ Analyze scientific literature and current developments related to hematologic and immunologic primary cells.

+ Shares responsibility for lab management duties including routine cleaning and equipment maintenance.

+ Comply with all company laboratory safety procedures and policies

+ Provide backup support to production isolation lab as needed

+ Other duties as assigned


+ Bachelors of Science with 1-3 years relevant industry laboratory experience

+ Previous experience working in teams

+ Time management and project management skills

+ Statistical analysis, strong analytical background highly desirable.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Develop proficiency in FlowJo Experience with Google Suite, Netsuite, etc a plus
