Our client is an exciting biomedical diagnostics company developing an innovative, new diagnostic platform in infectious diseases. We enable rapid testing across a wide range of healthcare settings.

**Job Summary**

The candidate will work with the ssaya group in the R&D division. The group focuses on molecular assay development including nucleic acid isolation, purification, amplification, and labeling technologies. The candidate will:

+ Assist scientists in performing experiments following specific procedures related to bacterial stock preparation, sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, and amplification.

+ Position may require shifting work hours to evening 1-2 days per week.

+ Prepare and QC reagents.

+ Participate in product development related activities such as assay verification and guard banding studies.

+ Maintain thorough records and experimental documentation.

**Education and Experience**

+ BS or MS in biology, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields with 2+ years lab experience.

+ Experience with nucleic acid amplification (such as PCR) and nucleic acid extraction from clinical samples highly desired.

+ Experience in or comfortable with working in BSL2 environment.

+ Detail-oriented, careful, and organized.

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a research team and generate high quality experimental data.

+ Ability to think critically.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic R&D environment.
