**Research Associate Genetic Toxicology Group (contract-to-hire, Morrisville, NC)**


Kelly Services is seeking several motivated, hardworking individuals to join our clients team as Research Associates for their Genetic Toxicology Group. These are contract-to-hire positions with a leader in delivering toxicology services for various research and regulatory compliance needs.


**Location:** Morrisville, NC


**Type:** W2, temp-to-hire


**Shifts:** M-F, 8 am 5 pm, occasional overtime & weekend work may be required


**Roles Available:** up to $29/hour, depending on experience


**Overview / Duties & Responsibilities:**


- conduct Good Laboratory Practice (GLP; 21 CFR Part 58) and non-GLP genetic toxicology assays (i.e., Ames, comet, micronucleus, chromosome aberration, Pig-a assays);


- perform flow cytometry-based assays;


- maintain and dose cultured cells, including primary cells and stem cells;


- interact with vendors/sales reps to learn/troubleshoot procedures as skill level and training dictate.


- perform laboratory maintenance tasks (e.g., material storage and disposal, equipment monitoring/maintenance, etc.);


- maintain supply inventories and prepare purchase orders as needed; maintain/archive study books;


- handle data (e.g., organize data, prepare data tables); assist in preparation of posters/presentations;


- initiate preparation and/or modification of protocols, reports, SOPs, assay forms; assist with software validation and instrument qualification


**Required Skills & Experience:**


- B.S. or M.S. in biology or related field with 1+ years of experience in one or more of the genetic toxicology assays listed above is required.


- Experience working under GLP or regulatory compliance highly preferred.


- Experience with flow cytometry and basic molecular biology laboratory procedures (DNA/RNA isolation and qualification) highly preferred.


- Excellent laboratory skills (e.g., accurate pipetting technique, competence with basic laboratory calculations and reagent preparation, etc.) required.


- Experience with aseptic technique and/or mammalian cell culture required. Varied experience in the use of laboratory equipment, especially microscopy, electrophoresis, plate readers, and sequencer, highly preferred.


- Also required: good written and oral communication skills; excellent computer skills working with word processing, spreadsheets and databases; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to differentiate multiple colors; ability to work at a microscope for at least 4 hours/day; ability to wear a respirator and work in a laboratory environment containing volatile chemicals.
