Kelly is hiring a **Research Associate I** for one of our biotech clients in **Cambridge, MA.**


+ pay: $25-$33/hr

+ 6 month contract


OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

Consolidate, relocate, archive or dispose of formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue and slides in Biorepository.

Update location, associated meta data and sample disposition in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Assist with general laboratory upkeep and organization.


SCOPE

We are a rapidly evolving translational research laboratory within the Immune Oncology Drug Discovery Unit (ODDU). Our goal is the implementation of innovative cell phenotyping capabilities that drive development of the next generation of immune-modulatory drugs for the treatment of cancer. In this position, you will work closely with scientists in our Translational Oncology group and be responsible for organizing and archiving our company's Biorepository. The main effort will be focused on the disposal and relocation of tissue samples (FFPE) and slides to help maximize the efficient use of these specimens.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

Catalog FFPE tissue samples in our Biorepository.

Archive, relocate or dispose of tissue samples and slides no longer in use.

Track location and status changes of samples and update accordingly in electronic LIMS system.

Maintain good records and appropriately document work.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with departmental colleagues.


Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

BS or associates degree preferred.


Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

High attention to detail.

Effective time management skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Adept at quickly learning new software systems.

Good fit with core values and leadership principles.

Right attitude (agile, curious, open-minded, can-do mindset).


Knowledge

Basic experience or understanding of biology and laboratory techniques would be helpful.
