**Research Associate I/II Cell Culture**

Manhattan, NY

7+ month contract

Schedule: 7 days, 40 hours per week

**Description of Position:**

The Research Associate I/II role within the Discovery Bioprocess team at our Manhattan facility will be responsible for investigating and scaling up novel modes of culturing pluripotent stem cells and their derivatives. This position will report directly to the Senior Scientist.


+ Execute in vitro experiments to culture pluripotent cell derivatives in bioreactors.

+ Collaborate with other teams to perform quality control assays, such as flow cytometry and cell culture analytics.

+ Evaluate new and emerging technologies as they relate to cell culture processes.

+ Analyze and document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the company quality management system.

+ Prepare and follow standard operating procedures, batch records and other process documentation.

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or related discipline

+ 1-2 years of cell culture or molecular biology experience

+ Solid understanding of aseptic technique

+ Enthusiastic learner with an attention to detail

+ A demonstrated knowledge of and interest in cell biology

+ Effective written and oral communication skills

+ Hands on experience with scalable cell culture system (in monolayer or 3D), or spheroid/organoid culture system a plus.

+ Willingness to share and coordinate with colleagues in weekend work
