**Research Associate, Viral Vector Process Development**

**Contract Duration:** **1 year from Start Date**

**Work Schedule:** Wed-Sat 1:30pm 12:00am w/30 min break



Kelly Scientific Resources has a great opportunity as a **Research Associate** working at a Therapeutics Manufacturing facility located in Seattle, WA.



The Research Associate will join our viral vector process development group supporting process development, production and characterization of viral vectors, which are key intermediates in the CAR-T drug product. The candidate will support current programs and advance our capabilities in vector production.



**Key Responsibilities:**




+ Hands-on experimental work in the development and optimization of upstream (cell culture and transfection conditions) and downstream (clarification, tangential flow filtration, chromatography) unit operations for viral vector production

+ Support the process development program for next generation viral vector manufacturing platforms

+ Contribute to the planning and design of experiments, execution and independent analysis of data

+ Problem-solving and troubleshooting existing process designs, and technologies, using scale-down models

+ Maintain proper documentation of experimental results.

+ Support process transfer, development, and manufacturing.



**Basic Qualifications**




+ B.S. in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Virology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline

+ 0-2 years of industry experience in process development

+ Independently motivated with the ability to multitask and work in teams

+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through oral presentation and technical writing



**Preferred Qualifications**




+ Demonstrated ability to read and understand scientific literature

+ Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection, harvest, and purification of biological products

+ Familiarity with basic analytical assay formats (e.g. ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry etc.) and ability to operate associated analytical equipment

+ Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design
