**Research Associate, Protein Assay Development & Protein Biochemistry**

Core skills:



execution of immunoassays, extensive experience with modern immunoassay design and optimization, recombinant proteins, protein purification, protein labeling and protein modification strategies. Educational background: BS Degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology etc.





Overview



Our client is focused on developing an innovative photonics technology for biomedical diagnostics and drug development. Our cutting-edge technology will enable new frontiers of medical research for ultrahigh-sensitivity detection of single molecules in low volume liquid biopsy samples.





Responsibilities:




+ Development of immunoassays for biofluids and cell-based samples.

+ Optimization of traditional and novel assay parameters to improve sensitivity, specificity, and throughput of detection. Development of robust immunoassay protocols and scientific interpretations of measurement results.

+ Creation of documents for new protocols, designs, and IP filings.





General Qualifications:




+ BS degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology or related disciplines. 2+ years of hands-on experience in biology assay development, in-depth experience in immunoassays including ELISA, western blot, dot blot, bead-based assays, fluorescent assays and label-free assays required.

+ 2+ years of hands-on experience in protein purification and protein labeling techniques, solid knowledge in antibody technologies required.



Preferred Qualifications:




+ Previous research expertise in the field of immunology

+ Experience with protein microarrays. Experience in using miniature devices (including lab-on-a-chip systems) to perform assays. Experience in microscopy.

+ Experience with laboratory automation including liquid handling, plate readers, plate washers, and incubators. Experience in drug development processes is preferred.
