Description Kelly Services is currently seeking a DIRECT HIRE **R & D Team Leader** for an esteemed client located in **Charlotte, NC** . The R&D Team Leader is responsible for leading a team focused on the development of water-based inks and coatings, UV inks and coatings, adhesives, and related pigment dispersions.

DIRECT HIRE + BENEFITS + RELOCATION ASSISTANCE

**The ideal candidate will have:**


+ Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.
+ Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to make recommendations and decisions independently.
**Managerial Responsibilities:**


+ Lead a team of R&D chemists and Technicians to develop new products for the flexographic, lithographic, and digital applications
+ Support the development of a long term strategy for new products by identification of new technologies and chemistries
+ Ensure timely completion of projects through the New Product Development Process
+ Cost-management/containment on all R&D development projects
+ Regular performance review and monitoring for R&D Team
+ Provide training, guidance, and overall performance management for direct reports
**Technical**


+ Research into competitor patents and technologies
+ Research and development of new test methods applicable to new product design
+ Key contact to vendors to identify new raw materials and relevant analytical equipment
+ Lead scale up of development projects to production level
**Qualifications:**


+ Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with significant experience in an appropriate scientific field such as Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
+ Minimum of 8 - 10 years of industry experience in technical and R&D roles.
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
+ Excellent organizational and project management skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time under tight deadlines.
+ Work in team environment with varied departments and diverse personalities.
+ Excellent oral & written communication skills.
