Research Nurse (Clinical Trials Quality and Monitoring Experience) - NIH - Rockville, MD

We are currently seeking a MSN or BSN level RESEARCH NURSE with EXPERIENCE in CLINICAL TRIALS QA and MONITORING to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, Maryland. Rockville is 18 miles from Washington DC.

Administrative Office Environment

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

1. Work with staff to coordinate projects, events, activities and initiatives in support of of the Developmental Therapeutics Clinic (DTC).

2. Attend internal/external meetings with other contractor staff specifically related to DTCs Clinic and work on issues that impact DTC including but not limited to roster issues, DCTD-Audit Information System (AIS) business rules and enhancements, and other issues pertaining to DTC Clinic.

3. Attend meetings and conferences, coordinate meeting logistics, take notes, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, prepare and distribute presentation and discussion materials, contact participants.

4. Serve a key role as DTC File Management Coordinator responsible for overseeing the conversion of all paper files to electronic files utilizing the laser fiche file management system.

5. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for file management and oversee the process for administrative support personnel performing the scanning; perform quality assurance of a sample of files to ensure scanning is being done properly.

6. Track and monitor progress on meeting the goal converting paper files to scanned electronic documents; keep Branch Chief apprised of progress and/or any difficulties or challenges encountered.

7. Create usable databases for DTC staff using tools such as Excel, SharePoint and Laser fiche.

8.Develop a training/mentoring program for new DTC staff and establish and track milestones demonstrating proficiency in various areas.

9. Prepare and finalize training/mentor sessions for new DTC staff members on the procedures to be followed for use of the Audit Information System (DCTD -AIS) in reviewing audit schedules, reviewing and acknowledging audit reports, tracking follow-up and other processes and business rules regarding the DCTD-AIS.

10. Establish SOPs for the review of preliminary reports and final reports.

11. Develop corrective and preventative action plans and related internal business rules for the use of the DCTD-AIS.

12. Track action items and tasks; provide deadline reminders; create databases, provide technical input and expert guidance on issues relating to the DTC-AIS, request information; prepare presentations, reports, summaries, spreadsheets and other documents.

13. Maintain accuracy of data files via multiple software systems, including computerized procurement reports and communication programs.

14. Respond to inquiries and requests for general information from internal and external sources.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

1. Masters or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Science, Allied Health or related.

2. Minimum of twelve (12) years of related work experience.

3. Background in clinical trials QUALITY ASSURANCE and MONITORING.

4. Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

5. Demonstrated knowledge of Laser fiche and the File Management Plan.

6. Demonstrated expertise in the use of the Audit Information System.

7. Demonstrated expert knowledge of policies, procedures and business rules relating to AIS and Network Cooperative Group audit processes.

8. Ability to adapt and create tools to analyze and evaluate projects.

9. Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

10. Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

11. Ability to anticipate staff needs in the varied avenues of research, analysis and reporting, and create alternative processes for addressing tasks where appropriate.
